What's this place like, as far as the campus, classes, and things to do? How is their speech language pathology & audiology program?

Don't know that much about it...I just decided to visit this board because I am beginning to rethink my intention to submit an application because of the cold.

I want to major in journalism but I don't know if my stats are high enough to get admitted directly to Newhouse. I have a pretty good idea of the program, etc. I'm from CT and I hate the cold. So yeah...is that a really big thing at SU? Worth not applying? Thanks.

Nearly all colleges in these reviews have some negative reviews. Read about many different schools and use your perspective.

eireann: The weather is gray a lot and it's probably 10 degrees colder than CT most of the time. There is "lake effect" snow. Some amount of snow, even if light, falls almost every single day in the winter. As a walk-around student, the weather is actually interesting and not a big problem, as long as you don't have to commute in it.

"Syracuse is by far one of the greatest schools in the nation. I make over two million dollars a year because of this school's education."

hmmmm

it's boring and unsafe.

If you're familiar with the city, it can be alright.
Given, it's not a city like NYC or Rochester, but it has some city perks. There's two large malls, on both end of the city, there are clubs/bar downtown, mini-shoppes and plenty of places to go to be entertained, like the Civic center (variety of stage shows/lectures etc) and classical and country stars do visit the theatre downtown.

The weather tend to be unpredictable, and there's a chance thatmost of the time of your stay is going to be spent in snow and grey weather.
