What's UCLA's bad grade policy?

I might be getting a bad grade in one of my classes this quarter. If its below a C- I know you have to retake it, but once you retake it, does the previous grade still show up on your transcript?

I don't think you necessarily have to retake it... a D- and above is technically still passing. However, if you don't want it to hurt your GPA you can retake it and the new grade (for better or worse) will be calculated into your GPA. The old grade will stay on your transcript, but I believe only the new grade is used for your GPA (someone can correct me if I'm wrong there).

Correct, your old grade is replaced by the new grade when calculating the GPA, but both grades are displayed on the transcript. There will be a mark of the retaken course.

For most majors, anything above an F is passing. However, some courses also enforce the prerequisite of a C- of higher to take the following course of a sequence.

how many times are we allowed to retake classes? (different ones, not the same one)

i had to retake a math class last quarter and it looks like i might have to retake a physics class THIS quarter too. ****.

They spank you if you get a bad grade, thats the policy =P

Is there a time limit on when you have to retake it? Say I get a D in my freshman year, can I retake that class in my senior year?

bumpity bump on my last question
