What's UCSD like?

Hi all
I was recently accepted to UCSD class of 2024 for neurobiology in the sixth college. What are the classes and environment like at the school in general? Also how involved are students in the arts?

Hey, congrats on your acceptance! Here’s my (current sophomore) two cents:

For social things (idk if I’m allowed to reference my own old posts?) http://talk.qa.collegeconfidential.com/university-california-san-diego/2180716-ucsd-vs-ucla.html#latest

Lots of Asians, and internationals. Demographic statistics can easily be found online.

Classes, right now they are online, hopefully they won’t be in the Fall, so I’m not sure what to say on that front.

Environment? I think most of us are pretty laid back, we aren’t cut-throat academically, pretty collaborative. I’ve never taken a Biology class, but lectures in general have many people, but if you’re willing to speak up, you get your questions answered. Professors and TAs have office hours and discussions, and as long as you look for it, you can always get help.

I can’t speak to art. Someone else might have more input on that.
