Whats up on the housing?

I am definitely going to UCSC but i am not sure which college to go to? I am very athletic and active, I do my fair share of partying, yet am also academically-focused.I was just wondering the main differences between the colleges. What type of people? Diverse or not? Best living situations? Best location on compus? Best food? Any opinions or favorites? Any suggestions? Any firsthand info is greatly appreciated. Thanks

I'm an incoming freshman, if I decide to go here. But I know Cowell is closest to East Field (has recreation & everything) & Eight is closet to West Field (just has tennis courts). But getting from one side of campus to the other is quick. I ahve no idea which college parties most, but I know the people in Cowell are crazy and friendly, they talk to you when they don't even know you. I think the main difference among the colleges is the theme of it, and what the core classes concentrate on. I hear Oakes is the most diverse. The newest, Nine & Ten, are the cleanest and largest room wise. I've only actually seen 9, but I hear Ten is very similar. The rooms are larger and brighter, depending on which dorm you get, whether it be near trees to block brightness or not. It doesn't matter which has best food because you can dine at all of the halls. I suggest you visit, depending on how close you live to UCSC. Just don't judge the colleges by how they look outside because they are so different (cleaner/dirtier) inside.
