What's up with the new SAT policy?

Can anyone explain what this is about to me? I am class of 2010, but I have taken a World history subject test this past June. Can I decide whether to send this score or not to colleges according to the new SAT policy?? or does the new policy only work for SAT tests that are taken AFTER march 2009?

does anybody know???

bump...? 10 char

same, idk what they mean, im also class of '10

hmmmm. good quesiton. I think it means that if you are class of 2010, the policy applies. Please post if I am wrong.

good question. I think if you are class 2010, policy applies. Please post if I am wrong.

It has to start next year for '10 - by the time March 2009 comes around, the '09 group will start receiving their acceptances from colleges.

honestly this rumour was started by a chinese newspaper and it has been unconfirmed by collegeboard
also NYTimes would be the first to write a story on this topic if it was true and no article has been written
i called collegeboard and the representative said it was untrue

^^^

New SAT Score-Reporting Policy

froozle you know nothing....and are a liar

sorry i looked around and i couldn't find that article
thanks for it IlDesi
az1698: i called and they said they didn't think so ...sorry i guess i was misinformed
thanks again for the page

I think the rule is that if you take tests after March 2009, you can pick which scores to send to schools INCLUDING scores of tests that you've taken before March 2009.

"Any student who has taken an SAT prior to the policy launch or who registers for the SAT after launch will be able to take advantage of this new policy. The students who have taken tests prior to the launch can use the score-reporting feature retroactively. "

New SAT Score-Reporting Policy

basically, it doesn't matter when you took your test.. you can selectively send your scores starting in APR 2009 (which would mean class of '10)
I am in class of 2009 but i could still use this method, although it wouldn't help since the deadline is JAN :)

It's hard to believe that the collegeboard reps didn't know about this froozle...you sure you called?

Ok. This is how it goes. For Any test you take AFTER the policy officially comes out you can choose which test you want to send in to college admissions.

so hypothetically speaking if u are a rising junior and you take an SAT subject test this coming october..you have no choice whether or not to send in your score?

ivyleague104:yes that's true...it only starts with the class of 2010

i'm also surprised that the person i talked to gave me the wrong info
and i'm surprised that NYTimes hasn't covered such an important change in policy

again, sorry for the confusion

^^ yea but a rising junior is class of 2010..

New SAT Score-Reporting Policy

Don't know if this is the site that is cited ( :) ) above, but this is the college board's explanation for the new policy, so it is an official change.

EDIT: Yup, my link is a repetition of the above link. Anyway, it's good to repeat it, because it's true. Read it carefully, and you will have your answers!

sorry i misread your post :[
i thought read it as you are a junior...sorry lol
