Whats with the decline/stagnation in appicants?

yeah, i'm sure you'd be offended if someone thought you went to harvard

i appreciate your sarcasm, but i actually would be offended if someone thought i go to a school other than the school that i attend.
it's like calling someone japanese if they're actually chinese.

why are YOU on the penn board anyway? do you even go to penn / are you planning on attending?

i must have missed the part of the rules that says only penn applicants/acceptees/students are allowed to post on this board

no, i was just asking out of curiosity.

i'm pretty accustomed to seeing penn applicants and students on this board because it actually has information related to them.
but hey, if you'd like to know all about penn but attend another institution, i totally commend you for your curiosity. it's great to see other people wonder about penn, and it's even better to see them not mistake it for other schools :)

also, i guess you're pretty fluent in internet sarcasm.

who gives a ****?! this is stupid, stop you're petty argument. you should all be above such nonsense.

Of course we're above such nonsense.

However, we are also bored ;)

haha ilovebagels. SO incredibly true.
you can't expect much else from a second semester senior who already got into her first choice school.

Gabba, of course I pick the criteria by which everyone should judge schools. I'm right about everything. I am the Alpha and the Omega.

I think you got my point, really. I was just saying that prestige alone is a terrible reason to apply to a school. We're agreeing, although I personally think prestige is stupid and not filling, like icing, or the cajun spice on Five Guys french fries. Whatever floats your boat, if you're a shallow enough person that prestige will make you satisfied and happy for four entire years, more power to you. I hold most people in higher regard then that is all. Anyway, you get me.

And hell, the pots and the kettles are all the same color, who cares what order they come out in?

EDIT: And I'm sorry, but how are eatyourcereal's posts offensive at all? You're probably a smart kid, can't you do better than the "your mom goes to college" insult form? Nice job using erroneous, by the way, made you look a lot smarter than saying 'wrong.' I'm being sarcastic.

Why do the Penn threads always devolve into petty arguments?

^most CC threads do.

What I find remarkable is how rarely Godwin's Law seems to be invoked here...

well, the arguments haven't really gotten BIG enough (i.e. this discussion hasn't even reached 100 posts) for Godwin's Law to be applied.

or um..it's a bunch of bull.

dakow, auschwitz, hitler, barbie, himmler, and rommel.

THERE

Mission Accomplished ;)

But what matters is that Penn Admissions sucks at marketing Penn. hard.

what matters, and ilovebagels can attest to this, is that wharton is the heart of penn and what truly keeps it afloat

and when wharton sinks... penn dies

stf u and eat your cereal

what kind of cereal

"and when wharton sinks... penn dies "

Noob...forgot about Penn's other top-rated grad programs (e.g. med/law)? And, check the grad school admissions people at CAS and SEAS undergrad manage to get and you'll be eating your words. I despise filthy little PSU jocks and I guess that makes me an "elitist snob" right?

/end feeding troll

UPenn has one of the highest applicant rates out of the Ivies. 22,935 people applied in 2007.

To paraphrase Marx, the poor child has gone from tragedy to farce... now he/she/it has gone from distorting what i say to the simply fantastical...someone check what's in that cereal
