Right now I've finished my first year at Ohio State. There are a lot of things I like about my school, actually. However, there are a couple things that I'm not a fan of. For one, it's really expensive - out of state tuition sucks. Even with scholarships, it's not fun. Second, I just don't like the midwest. I'm from Seattle, and it's just a liiiittle bit different. Finally, I really don't like how the engineering department does admissions. They don't let you actually apply to the engineering program until you've completed a certain set of classes, usually during your sophomore year. This means that I won't even know if I'll be able to do the major I want until I'm almost done with my second year of college.

So I've been thinking about transferring to a school back in the Northwest. However, I really have no idea where to go - my original first choice of school was CU-Boulder, but that's just as unrealistic in terms of money as it was when I applied last year. I've been thinking about UW or maybe Montana State. I also want to move back to the Northwest once I graduate, so going to school here will make it easier to get a job. I just don't know if it's worth transferring schools just because I don't like where I'm living.

So - any opinions? I like my school itself, and the engineering department overall is great. I just don't like their admission process and I'd still rather be in the NW.
