What's wrong with Quantitative Finance for banking?

<p>I keep hearing that quantitative finance is a bad major for getting into investment banking. But somehow finance is good. Q-Fin is just a major in finance and a minor in math, so it's a finance major + some more stuff. How is this bad?</p>

<p>it has a great deal to do with your school. If you're at harvard you could be a philosophy major and still have a good shot at getting in.</p>

<p>My brother just got interviewed for a hedgefund, they asked him some weird questions at the interview. So weird, that I dont think it matters what you major in at college.</p>
