<p>Makeup and jeans and jewelry and stuff. I usually don't touch that stuff but I figure I ought to make good first impressions in college.</p>
<p>How essential is it to have a laptop? What's wrong with just bringing your desktop (For those of us that do not have a laptop/don't feel like shelling out the cash for one)? I could possibly ask for one as my graduation/birthday present, but I'd rather spend that graduation gift on something else :)</p>

<p>I was considering doing that, but then I decided that I'm lazy and would never muster the wilpower to get out of bed before it is strictly necessary to smear things on my face. And anyways, after the first week or so, I expect that dress and make-up will be more laid-back than in high school... Some of my college friends who often wore make-up in high school no longer do. So maybe buy the minimums now and then buy more after a semester if you see fit.</p>
