What's your favorite book?

I saw a few say Catcher in the Rye, which is interesting since I’m currently working on that one. I haven’t been able to start liking it yet. Maybe I’ll like it later, but for now, I’m just annoyed at his whining.
I saw a few people mention Ender’s Game! Yea! I was afraid that I was the only one since when I made my brother read it, he claimed to hate it. Um, in addition to my lit crush on Orson Scott Card, I like
Frankenstein
any book by Crichton
An Abundance of Katherines
Fahrenheit 451
Lord of the Flies (this one I read for school and fell in love with it)
various short stories by Piers Anthony
Does My Head Look Big in This?
Jane Eyre
anything by Dahl (kid’s author but loads of fun)
Julius Caesar (another one that I liked from school)
The Giver
anything by Jules Verne
Little Women

… and far too many others to mention. Reading truly is amazing. I recently finished Gym Candy. I don’t think that it was good enough for my favorites, but it was an interesting read.

Hey watchmesoar, I also love A Thousand Splendid Suns too!

BryDeeC, so beautiful, yet so sad, isn’ it? Have you read The Kite Runner?

And really? I thought The Scarlett Letter was in the discussion for one of the “worst books ever”.

^^^
wow, i didn’t realize that, haha.

I haven’t read it yet:/ I just finished * 1984 * and I’m currently reading * The Picture of Dorian Gray *. I bought it though so at least I possess it right now. Everyone seems to like that book so I’ll definitely have to read it next.

I’m scanning through my shelf right and these are the only ones that stick out:

Catch-22 (I’m planning on re-reading it)
A Clockwork Orange (gonna re-read this one)
The Catcher in the Rye
To Kill a Mockingbird
The Last Lecture (simple, yet amazing)

Roald Dahl’s adult stories are seriously brilliant, filled with dark humor. My Uncle Oswald is my favorite.

In Search of Time: The Science of a Curious Dimension by Dan Falk is also really good; it talks about the philosophy and science of time.

The Great Gatsby
1984
