Mine:
Franklin College, Lugano Switzerland
Major: International Relations
Minor:Studio Art

I found it at a college fair and talked to the representative for nearly an hour. The very international culture aspect of it attracted me along with the required study abroad:)

Mine:
Penn
Major: biochemistry
Minor: photography

I like the urban campus, how it's both far away but not like too far away where it's halfway across the country, how it's not pretentious as the upper ivies, the fact I can take classes at the other schools, and just because it "fits"

Johns Hopkins
Major: Psychology or Neuroscience
Minor: not sure

Prestige. (i'm an intel, give me a break here). Jhu is VERY prestigous internationally. And it's my only realistic prestige school i have on my list. and my parents want me to go there. Plus, I REALLY want to go there. I think i want to go there more than my parents.

Plus, i like cut throat atmospheres. And i'm gonna do pre-med. And I like everything a bit competitive. And i like watching lacrosse even tho i suck playing. And from the photos that i've seen, jhu looks very pretty. The only con i can think of at this moment is baltimore and it's dangerous setting.

Prestige. Only needs two SAT Subject Tests instead of the three that most Ivies need. The climate is great, and I've heard from several alums how much they liked the campus. I also have 3 friends who went to Stanford and they said it was their dream come true.

Stanford
Major: Psychology
Minor: Asian Studies or Religious Studies or Intl Relations

Prestige!!, on west-coast (I'm tired of Mass.), lots of Asians, wicked famous psych. professors - the kind that appears in textbooks and videos like Zimbardo and Rosenhan, since I plan to go to Asia as counseling psychologist and a missionary.

College: Yale University
Major: Environmental Biology
Minor: Anything totally random and fun

I first fell in love with Yale on a campus tour for my sister when I was in middle school. I loved my tour guide and, years later, was able to recall small details like Pepe's, the story of how Yale got its name (and was almost called Dummer College or something), how the name of one of the residential colleges - each of which which felt so homely and inviting - was the same as my street, etc. A couple years later I finally realized that it was one of the premier academic institutions in the world and I learned what the Ivy League schools were. I was totally spellbound. Hehe, my parents took me to visit for the first time in 4-5 years the weekend before the PSAT (to "inspire" me). I recalled so many trivial details on the tour. I felt like I already knew the campus, and that only reassured my tenuous notion that Yale was the school for me. The campus totally clicked. I admit, though, that the name is part of what brought me back to loving it my freshman year. But the reason why I'd pick it over Harvard or Princeton or MIT is because of that original emotional attachment installed in me so many years ago. So, in conclusion, I guess my reasons are more emotional than academic. But hey, I think from my heart. My brain is just there to cover up for my mistakes and make me look good (usually). ;)

Stanford - Cali, used to live 20 min. away. Nice place, one of the best schools.
ARE YOU SERIOUS THAT IT ONLY NEEDS 2 SAT IIs? that would totally save me!

Winthrop University (Rock Hill, SC)
Major: Computer Information Systems
Minor: Computer Science

I visited Clemson in the summer, but didn't really like the far away from civilization feel, and then I saw Winthrop and it's closeness to a lot of things. Their dorms look really nice as well, and they've already accepted me for fall 2006. ^_^

UC-Berkeley... but i cant get in so im not even going to try

so....
Ohio university-athens or univ. of dayton (I cant pick)
Major: Chem. engineering or biochem (depending on which shool i pick
basically b/c i love the ppl there and i love the atmosphere on campus, i really wouldnt have even applied anywhere else but i wanted to get accepted to a top school and turn them down (wisconsin-madison) just so i can know that i could go to a top school if i wanted too. I also love that both are working to become nationally recognized and both are party schools where kids know how to have fun.

Location, quality of education, beautiful campus, love the feel, and at least one of my friends is already going there (recruited athlete); another one might go, he's deciding b/w Yale and Stanford.

Georgetown
Major: International Relations
Minor: History

This is absolutely the best school for what I want to study, plus DC is an incredible city. I'd kill to live there. I won't get in, but meh, what can you do?
