yeah. there's a pre law program just like the pre med program. I have yet to research more into the course requirements. I'll do it once I'm done with high school.

I thought Brown didn't have a pre-law program.

That's what I thought too..

i want to go pre-law, i'm pretty sure that they have a program, but if they don't then probably american history/governmeny. maybe take a few art classes too...

I don't know where you guys would have heard something like that, but there is no pre-law program. The "pre med" program you are thinking of is, I think, PLME, which is an 8-year MD program, not pre-med.

American Civilization, Spanish

There is no "pre-med" program; however, there is a pre-med advisor and a set of recommendations for courses to enroll in.

It's pretty much the same as most schools: 2 semesters of organic chem, 2 semesters of inorganic chem, 2 semesters of biology, two semesters of calculus, 2 semesters of physics, and 2 semesters of literature. You're really just preparing for the MCAT.

statistics and american history

Likewise, there is a pre law deal. It was stated in the 'Brown for Entering Students' book that we got with our admissions letter.

The pre-med stuff is far more structured, which is the nature of medical school requirements. The pre-law advising, so far as I know, is just to help get prepared for the application process.

...but there is a Pre-Law Office, and a Pre-Law Dean:

Yes, but these resources shouldn't be mentioned in the same breath as the pre-med ones, as they are fundamentally different.

hey fellow brunonians! I just received word of my acceptance today so I'm elated to go to school with you guys next year. I love to surf and I love to play poker and basketball, so if any of y'all are into that, drop me an email. (just pm me for the address).
Oh my gosh, Brownsurfer, congratulations!!!!!!! :D:D

Is anyone else counting down the days until August 31st?

ha ha. thanks so much, guys. I have a ? about orientation. Are your parents dropping you off or are they staying with you for the week? Do you know what most people's parents are doing?

If you look through the orientation packet, they ask your parents to leave after the first day somewhere in there. This is very advisable.

double majoring in political science/drinking

and doing premed

ill have headaches every day

way to be honest bullmoose :)

Pre-law sort of doesn't exist, as you can major in ANYTHING and be a fine candidate for law school.
