Whats your major, grade and strength of schedule this fall before applying?

So for all the people applying this fall how does your schedule look like? whats your current gpa? major? and what campus are you applying to and why? Lets get some feedback to see hows everyone doing, and also get to know each other.

I'm applying as an Econ (UCSD), History(UCLA), and Legal studies major(CAL) and Biz Admin (UCR)

I currently has a 3.7, but it will push up to a 3.80-85 hopefully.

Those I’ll be taking for sure, but I’ll try to take one more once school starts. Symbolic Logic will be a pain… already took Logic but Symbloic Logic is the UCLA prereq. Same professor, same lectures… what a waste of time.

Don’t know if I’ll take anything during Spring.

UCHopeful12, you’re the first person I’ve met to apply to 4+ schools all with different majors. Which one’s your top goal?

@salmos My goal is to work for an investment firm or the oil industry. I think I won’t go wrong with any of those major except the history, but hopefully I can pick-up an accounting minor with the history major at UCLA if accepted.

Well I’m the kind that believes you can’t go wrong with any area of study if you like it. Good luck with the semester, looks like a mission.

I’m applying to UCD and UCSB as a biology major.

Spring:

Not sure… I know I need to finish my IGETC science requirements, so probably Anthro 1 and Geology 3 (the lab section; I’ve already taken Geo 1) and a few philosophy courses perhaps.

@ Iwillfly
Please consider applying to additional UCs, CSUs, or private schools since you can’t TAG UCI.

kme, can you clear this up for me.

for UC Davis/UC Irvine do you have to have the GPA required by TAG met by the beginning of this Fall? Or End of Fall?

meaning whichever GPA you have after this Summer will constitute whether or not you will be qualified for TAG?

You have to have above the GPA for End of Summer 11 AND Fall 11 AND Spring 12.

And you MUST have it for after summer since the app is from 9/1 to 9/30

Yeah I’m applying to CSU’s also.

Yeah I believe you need to have the TAG required GPA by the end of the Summer BEFORE you apply for TAG. In other words, when you submit your TAG application (Sept 1-30th) you need to already have the minimum TAG GPA.

So there really is no chance for me to TAG then. HAHA, even if I get A’s on my Speech and the Health class, it will only come out to a 3.09. This sucks. They just had to up the GPA reqs. Hopefully my predicted 3.2 after Fall+ TAP+personal statement can help me get in UCLA or UCI. Too many C’s lying around on my transcript. C’s for useless class. Tskk.

You can TAG UCM, UCR, and I believe UCSC with a 3.0.

I want to stay near home. And they really don’t attract me. UCM and UCR at least. SC… I don’t know. Too far up North?

Entering sophomore year. TAG with UCSD. Applying to Cal (maybe others, I haven’t decided yet). My major is Poli Sci-International Relations.

Schedule for Fall 2011:

Gen Chem I
Precalc
US Gov
International Relations
Honors Ancient Lit
Advanced comp
(22 units)

Schedule for Spring 2012:

Gen Chem II
Calc I
Honors US History
Modern Diseases
Political ideologies
Intro to foreign gov
(22 units)

Summer before transfer I’ll most likely take Calc II.

Current GPA is 3.91 (hopefully will go up, but who knows).

okay cooool. im good.
