16 credits
max we are allowed is 17.

I’ll be a sophomore next fall. Max credits (without paying more) is 18, I think. Except in special cases like for accelerated languages or gym, all of the courses here are worth 4 credits each, so it’s standard to take four classes and perhaps a gym class of music lesson if you feel like it.

Intro to German Studies - 4 credits
Socialism in History and Philosophy - 4 credits
German History from Reform to Unification, 1500-1871 - 4 credits
Intro to International Studies: Literature and Global Studies - 4 credits
Yoga - 1 credit

Power Electronic Systems (3)

Control of Industrial Processes (3)
Electromechanical Energy Conversion (3)
Electrical Engineering Fourth Year Projet (2)

14 credits

All my classes have a lab component in them as well.

The max we can take at my school is 18 credits but that is borderline suicidal. 15 credits per semester is the norm. I really have a problem understanding how an Arabic course can be worth 5 credits, like a poster above mentioned…

I might drop a class if I have too much course load, as I’m the treasurer of the student government for the upcoming year.

My school runs on a unit system now, but you can still mentally figure out how many credits a class would be worth before the change.

My sophomore year, Fall 09:

Multivariate Calculus (3 credits)
Intro to Physics (4 credits)
Intro Japanese (4 credits)
Geek Literature & Culture (3 credits)
Piano (2 credits)

~16 credits, or 4.5 units

And wow does my course load make me sound like a nerd or what.

Organic Chemistry 3 credits
Organic Chemistry Lab 1 credit
Intro to English Studies 3 credits
