What's your stance on the issues?

1.) Gay marriage
2.) birth control, abortion
3.) affirmative action
4.) any other topics

let's leave the iraq war out of this one.... i'm sick of hearing about it.

My short response...
1.) Gay Marriage- not against. I don't think anybody should be denied a basic human right like love.
2.) Birth control, abortion- Pro-choice, it's their life, their choice. besides if we got rid of abortion, it would still happen in dark alleys and cause nasty epidemics.
3.) affirmative action- ... let me get back to you on this one
4.) has to think of a good one

1.) i am disgusted when i see gay people kissing and the like, but i have no reason to be disgusted, and i believe in equal rights for all, so i am for gay marriage.

2.) i am also pro choice on abortion- its the womans life, and its her body, so let her live with the consequences of her decision, that's punishment enough.

birth control- I can't stand when ppl are against this, like the Pope and other religious figures. It protects the ppl from STDs like aids and unwanted pregnancies, which will keep the population from growing exponentially and not contribute to the increasing poverty levels.

3.) strongly against in college admissions

Gay Marriage - don't agree with it, don't support it. But i'm not against it. So it's not like I'll go out of my way to put it down, but I'm not going to a rally that supports it either.

Birth Control/Abortion - It's kinda needed in this world, we already have too many people. And people are raped, so they need a way to not suffer with the consequences. And the govt shouldn't have to tell someone what they can or cannot do with their body.

Affirmative Action - For it, those people that are favored suffered for centuries

yes, blacks, for example, suffered for centuries, but it's our ancestors that put them through hell, NOT US, so why should we pay for it?

1) I want them to have the same rights, like visitation, hospital, adoption, inheritance, and the like. However, I just don't like calling it marriage. Dont ask me why..I wont really be able to explain it well. Civial union, i guess, you could it that.

2) birth control: its their perogative (did i spell that right)...however, ive heard that it can seriously mess your chances of conceiving later on if you want to, so its not for me. as for abortion, im pro-choice, esp. in the cases of the girl getting pregnant due to a rape or if the mother is in mortal danger.

3) affirmative action: dont really like it, its old, outdated...race can be considered, but shouldnt be a determing factor

I am going to get flamed for this.

1.) Gay marriage- against
2.) birth control, abortion- against abortion, pro-birth control

3.) affirmative action- actually, in many cases, I think highly of affirmative action. But still, I wish preferential treatment were given to those of low incomes instead of merely skin color. When you think about it, making preferential treatment avaliable to those who are low-income will encompass many black and Latino prospective students anyway. But it also wouldn't cut out qualified-but-poor white and Asian students.

4.) any other topics. More flaming!: Pro-war, pro-Bush, pro-Republican.

Let them get married, they're living together anyway. Despite the fact that homosexuality seems kind of odd/scary to me (I guess that's what I get for living in the "Bible Belt" where nothing is more important than "Christianity" and football), why shouldn't they get the same benefits as everyone else.

Again, I disapprove of the practice, but I realiise it is for the better, so it should be legal. (Most of) Those who are willling to get an abortion are the same people that would likely abandon the baby or treat it horribly if they were not allowed to have an abortion. If an abortion can prevent some of this, by all means, let it happen.

I am strongly apposed to affirmative action. Applications should be numbered in some way (like registration numbers for SATs or something) and the checkboxes for race should be removed. Then, the committee that selects those to be admitted should have no access to the true identity of the person and should only accept the best applicant requardless of race, religion, nationality, etc.

I can't identify with any one political idealogy these days. Sometimes I lean toward liberal Democrats, other times I feel like I relate to staunch Republicanism. Whatever. I go my own way.

Gay marriage: pro

Abortion/birth control: pro-birth control. VERY Anti-abortion

Affirmative action: I don't know. I switch between recognizing its good and promise, and realizing how it hurts whites and Asians and Indians.

Other issues: I don't know. How about... Bush is a complete idiot?

1) Gay Marriage - Pro. What do I care what they do as long as it doesn't hurt me?

2) Pro-choice

3) Against affirmative action

4) How about...against the (misguided and failed) war on drugs?

1) I don't care I don't have the right to tell someone they can't get married
2) Personally I wouldn't kill the child I say if you're going to do then suffer the consequences

Gay Marriage- not against, but i wouldn't march onto the white house demanding that it becomes completely legal

pro-life, go for birth control, pill+protection+spemicide=no conception

AA- I'm for it, but it's been abused too much. institutions when stuck between two identical applicants with identical credentials and the only difference is race, go for the minority. but too many times have institutions accepted underqualified minority over a qualified majority

Gay marriage - I don't feel it the government's place to regulate relationships to start with.

Abortion - Against, personally, however I dont feel its the government's place to push my morals onto others.

Affirmative action - Against. Racism today does not make up for racism 50 years ago.

Thats why I didn't answer the AA question for the fact that it has been abused

1.) Gay marriage=support it. I find that I can't define marriage by the sex of the two who married, rather I like to think of marriage as the universal bond of love between two who love each other.

2.) birth control, abortion=support it. A woman's body is her own and outsiders should not have the right to tell her what to do with her body. The baby is not yet born and when the fetus is still within her body-flesh and blood, she has the right to do what she wants.

3.) affirmative action=no opinion
4.) any other topics (how about human cloning?)= against it. I don't see the point of cloning humans when we are alreadying having overpopulation and limiting resources. If it's for medical research for the benefits of those are health risks, sure---animal cloning. But cloning humans for some other reasons should be prohibited.

1) for gay marriage
2) for birth control, pro-choice (no one is "for abortion"), but when the terrible case presents itself i believe it is up to those who are involved to decide what is best, not the government
3) for affirmative action, it will probably hurt my chances of getting into a good school, but i think that its pros are unparallel to any "suffering" i may endure
4) for things that are good, against things that suck

gay marriage - I strongly support it. Marriage is a >legal< status that affords certain rights to people. To deny those rights based on some arbitrary standard of what is "traditional" is discrimination.

abortion - prochoice for several reasons...I'm too lazy to write them all..
birth control - I think birth control ought to be widely available to teens. teen sex is just a fact of life nowadays...but if people feel they are mature enough to have premarital sex, they better be mature enough to take the right precautions.

aff action - against it when it's based on race, but I think it's justified when it considers socioeconomic status.

bothers me a bit but to ban it creates too many other issues- same rights but call it something different

birth control-pro (who isnt really?) abortion- against except if the mother is in danger or rape people need to take responsibility for their actions instead of "oh well i can get an abortion"

AA- AGAINST its racism pure and simple

other? stem cells- too many benifits to hold back science

Gay Marriage- For; the legal rights that come with marriage (I belive marriage is a religous instituion anyways; the gov shouldn't have any thing to do with it) should not be restricted to male-female relationships. Citing the traditonal family unit, there has never been such a thing throughout history; many familes before the modern era were composed of mother/children.

Birth Control/Abortion For both; People should be able to control their own bodies, but there does need to be parental notification because a minor is the responsiblity of the guardian(s). If abortion were outlawed, people would just get illicit abortions ridden with the risk of death or crippling disease.

AA- AA based on race needs to be eliminated because there is too much abuse of the system and in my moms work she sees abuse of AA. My mom was sued by a group of Hispanics for foreclosing their house when they were 7 months behind on mortage payments; if she had lost the case, she would have lost her job. BTW, she won the case. AA based on socioeconomic status would be much better. Many people have been discrimnated by others throughout history including caucusians.

Marijuana- Marijauana needs to be leagalized; somewhere between 30%-40% of the prison population is composed of people convicted of marijuana-related transgressions.

1.) Gay marriage - i am a christian, but i realize that some people may not be christians. forcing people to believe what i believe by making laws won't help them to appreciate my religion anymore. government already plays such a small part in our lives anyway.
2.) birth control, abortion - birth control as in condoms? sure. i don't believe in abortion. when the fetus forms, and you kill it, you are taking away a life. you can give me scientific evidence, but it is a life--in the least a great potential for life. if a husband caused a miscarriage by abusing a woman, then he would be charged. what's the difference with abortion? just because the woman gives consent for someone to kill it, so it makes it right now?
3.) affirmative action - this is not reverse discrimination. i'm for it. it needs to be reformed to include socio-economics as, well, though. the way it's run right now, a rich black kid that goes to boarding school is considered under represented. while a white kid with sub par financial situations is considered a majority. i just don't it's right. i don't think under-represented has to necessarily mean the color of your skin.
4.)
legalization of marijuanna -against
war in iraq - i was against starting it, but now that we are there, we have to fix what we broke.
military action against N. Korea - yes, i am for. Kim Jun Il is an actual threat.
capital punishment -against. taking away someone's life because they took away someone's life? eye for an eye leave the whole world blind. there's always the slight chance of innocence as well.
parental consent for abortions for minors - yes. if you're responsible enough to have sex, then you're responsible enough to tell your parents you're pregnant
i am against privatizing social security
i am for universal health care
