Wondering about the good balance between study and gym or other physical activity times.
Do you usually do at night after class or what?

Thanks.

gwood, it’s honestly up to you. It varies from person to person; I know people who get up ridiculously early to workout and I know some people who prefer to go to the gym around 10 PM. Some just like to run around grounds.

The AFC (the main gym; it’s pretty close for first years) has a schedule of classes you can take like pilates, cycling, kickboxing, etc. You could always buy a pass and plan your exercising to that.

[Drop-in Schedule](http://www.virginia.edu/ims/fitness/summer.html)

That’s the schedule for the summer; it varies from semester to semester but there are a variety of classes.

If you wanted to learn rugby, tennis, volleyball, golf, raquetball, etc., you could take it for credit. I believe they’re under PHYE (physical education).

For me, ideally, I love the idea of being able to get up early in the morning, working out, showering, lounging for a little, then going to class. That happens for like the first two weeks of the semester, and then it ends up being that I go when I have some free time lol; I love my sleep. And coming from high school, you’ll tell yourself that getting up at 8 is nothing compared to high school; you were at school by 8! College is different. Most of the time, you’ll moan and groan at the thought of waking up at 8. ;)

So again, it’s up to you. UVa has enough gyms to accommodate everyone and a beautiful campus so you can run outside and enjoy the weather.
