What's your style of driving?

I tailgate within inches of people who decide to cut me off.

I
hate
driving.

Mostly because, two days after getting my shiny new permit, some motorcyclist rear-ended me as I stopped after the car in front of me stopped very abruptly for a pedestrian. And the dude was like looking around aimlessly and whistling before he BOOM fell off his bike in the middle of the road, which of course made me look like a terribly naive teen. Oh well. I'm usually pretty decent, drive 5 miles above the speed limit, stop at yellow lights and every stop sign/right on red.

I am a passenger only, especially on buses. I bus EVERYWHERE. I haven't found a particularly compelling reason to drive yet - gas is ridiculously expensive and I can get anywhere I need to go on bus. It takes a bit longer but it's so much cheaper.

I wish I could take the bus, but there really aren't any buses here. At least, if there are, I haven't heard or seen anything of them.

On the road, I'm the annoying person who sets his cruise control to the speed limit exactly, and blocks everyone else that wants to go 15 miles over it from doing so (albeit I always take the slow lane, so it shouldn't matter, right?).

I also always signal when merging, wave to those who let me in, and never tailgate -- indeed, I leave huge berths of room between myself and the car in front of me (especially in stop and go traffic -- I always travel slowly and arrive at the stopped cars just as they begin to move, and so never have to slow down).

I tend to also accelerate and decelerate over as much time as can physically be had -- a good 100 meters or so before a red light you can see me begin to coast (which people really don't like; everyday I do this, and they always go really fast, pass me, cut me off, and then slam on their brakes because they've just realized that there's a red light in front of them)

I stay around 10 mph above the speed limit, and sometimes do this hypermiling trick where I accelerate up a hill and then put it in neutral going down. It's relatively safe, since I've still got steering and breaking.

These are me exactly. Except I'm usually about 10 over the speed limit, or just go with the flow of traffic. I get 35 mpg in my VW passat. Although I have to buy super premium gas... eh. I have lots of good mileage tricks.

Yay, my prius gets 60 mpg highway w/out any sneaky tricks (besides cruise control).

I'll have to try some of the internet ones out...

I am still practicing for my license (I'm seventeen) but I've got it all down well. I drive maybe 5 mph above the speed limit on regular roads, but on highways I go AT the speed limit, which ****es EVERYONE off.

I also signal whenever I merge/change lanes/switch CDs.

I'm a New Yorker living in the suburbs. That cancels out my Asian stereotype.

I drive at the speed limit or no more than 5 over the speed limit. I ALWAYS use my blinker, come to annoyingly full stops at stop signs (and BIG taboo thing in my area. Almost everyone ignores them or just slows down and keeps going here). I slow down and stop at all yellow lights, I take my time making rights on red (I've had police officers honk at me), etc, etc. However, I tend to take turns too fast.

Basically, I try not to hit things. I go the speed limit/just over on the street where I live and everyone acts like it's the worst thing possible. I've seen a lot of people speed ticketed, though, so it's better to be safe and have people ****ed at you.

i drive however i feel like it that day. in the mornings when late to school (and by myself... 15 minutes to make a 20 minute drive) i go 15 mph over (at least) and weave a bit.

it's the city's fault though... brand new, WIDE, divided road (with median), 35 mph. pfffft.

when other people are with me i get comments on driving well, though it may just be flattery, but i'm cool with that haha

also, only accident is when that m************ ****** hit me and ran for it (sorry, he deserves the *'ed term.) when i was with two friends on the last day of school... man i was not happy

I speed on the highway and roads like that. I don't speed more than 5 - 7mph in residential areas. And I go below the speed limit on back roads in my neighborhood. I don't want to hit any little critters... and children, I guess.

I always signal. I never tailgate. Usually have a least a car between me and the other person. I never get mad/curse. The most I say is jerk or loser if someone cuts me off or is tailgating, etc.

I'm a pretty aggressive driver. Have to be to survive around here, especially during rush hour.

If someone needs to switch lanes, or merge, I'll try to let them in. And I let people go a lot, like from exits from stores/gas stations, especially if theres lots of traffic and I feel like they're gonna be there a while if I don't.

If I notice a person speeding very excessively/being wreckless I'll try my best not to let them in front of me if they want to get in by speeding up just to tick them off.

I drive a ton. When I used to not drive so much I would do the limit but not anymore.

My dad does the same thing.

DOPPELGANGER. Srsly.

Doppleganger?

(What is it?)

Like, you're my parallel self.

Oh, lol. I see.

on the road, i don't go more than 10-15 mph past the speed limit.

on the highway, i try to go as fast as possible while still being safe. depending on night/day, weather, traffic, etc. the most i go is like 85 (unless I'm driving for over 50 miles on an empty highway)

i almost always use the blinker unless im cutting in front of a big rig or something. but usually. i live in socal though, so im usually driving about 40 mph on the 5 gets angry

My dad's a drivers ed. instructor, so I better know how to drive. And I have to say so myself, I'm a great driver. No accidents, no tickets, nothing close to it. I can eat and drive single-handed with one of my legs crossed over (I do this subconsciously) without weaving at all. I have mad skillz, haha. I always signal, I always turn to the right lane (unlike 99% of people), and I never cut people off. I make complete stops at stop signs. The only thing I stink at is parallel parking. I learned but haven't done it in so long that I've forgotten how

But I'm a biotch on the road. I drive 5 over on all roads except highway 10 miles over the speed limit (just enough to satisfy my quench for speed and my complete impatience, not enough for the police to want to pull me over). If a car does something stupid, I honk, cuss, scream, and gesture very rudely. If a car is driving 8+ mph under the speed limit, I tailgate them. I accelerate way fast after stopping at a traffic light, and refuse to slow down until I'm within 20 feet of a red traffic signal. I'm not reckless though, and do get sorta mad when people are driving more than 15 miles over the speed limit and pass me up. So pretty much I'm the opposite of the OP and I would be really ticked off if I encountered many drivers similar to OP :D

You really don't care about wasting gas?
