What's your summer job?

cooking up some carbohydrates at local lab -- i was thinking of applying to be a grader or TA for summer just to not break the pattern of having two or more jobs over the summer but whatever, i think i'll simply enjoy whatever free time i have

same damn thing i did all year when i was in school. fulltime at Costco. yay. i'm also taking 4classes.

Folding clothes at Abercrombie.

cashier at a shoe store AND beer-cart girl at a golf course, im going to have so much monies

I think I've already said it a few times on here, but for those who missed it...receptionist at a doctor's office as well as tech support.

Working for church friend in construction. $15 an hour baby!

product specialist at circuit city and internship at Freer and Sackler museum in DC... tiring!

surfalicious: you have a job at af? interesting...are those rumors of discrimination against 'unattractive' and minorities true? I hear stories and news reports, but I've never known anyone who worked there.

for all major chains like af (hollister, express) they generally go for the more attractive people. i know first hand they recruit people for jobs base on style and taste in clothing. (if they see other customers choosing outfits based on things you just picked up)

Does anyone know the pay for certain clothing chains (Gap, Hollister, AF, AE, JCrew, Banana Rebublic, etc), book chains (Barnes & Noble, Borders) and food chains (Starbucks, Coldstone, any restaurant basically). I'm looking for good pay- anyone know where I can find it--not these places basically?

I'm working at ColdStone this summer, but just for 2 more weeks :-D

idolfan, I know that most food chains pay min. wage, unless you've been working there for a long time and get promoted (in which case it's still not much more per hour). Some of these chains (like Starbucks and ColdStone) also let you make tips. At ColdStone I make an average of about $2/hr in tips, depending on the time of day, since we split the tip jar evenly among as at the end of every shift.

My son is working at AF this summer. He said that they are now bending over backwards to hire minorities because they were accused of discrimination a few years ago. He has actually enjoyed the working environment and makes $11/hour.

Intern engineer for my state's department of transportation. I'm done tomorrow!

Intern at a small business. meh.

Working at Fermi National Laboratory on a software engineering project.

Swim coach and job at CVS

Yeah CVS. Sorry, I've been working there a year now.

Trade stocks/forex during the day, and after the market closes, I continue my gardening business I've been running for the past three years. Lots of rain in Texas this year means lots of cash for me. :)

I've been working as the dresser for American Jukebox and Kinetix at Busch Gardens Europe. Only 5 days left! I am so excited to get out of here. I hate my job.

A doctor's office, tomorrow's my last day :(
