I am so saddened and mixed with emotions. Angry that someone could do this to all those innocent students, furious that he has ruined the parents lives, how my heart breaks for them and perplexed that there were so many many "telltale signs" and "red flags" that I am curious as to where and if the school fell short. I know that this story is still coming out and there will be many more twists and turns to come but I feel the school and its faculty have a moral and ethical obligation that when they see a student who has so gone awry or seems so disturbed to be certain if not for his sake then the sake for all the students on campus to be CERTAIN that help is received.
It appears he was in a virtual catatonic state and yet was still allowed to remain on campus and attend classes.

No doubt this will indeed be a sad wake up call for campuses and schools across the country and will no doubt raise awareness of those that just "seem not quite right" or downright troubled. This I believe could have been prevented with much more aggressive action on the schools part, I am not looking to blame anyone but the gunman but am trying to figure out how we can learn from this and make sense of this madness and our increasingly violent society.
