My ex introduced me to this concept a few months ago. What's the one song that most embodies your values, goals, or personality?

Mine is Marche Slave by Tchaikovsky, but it used to be the overture to The Magic Flute. It's the story of the downtrodden rising up against their oppressors and becoming a glorious nation. It tells my story - how I rose from an instrument of the system to a warrior of a cause worth fighting for. At this point in my life, I'm at 8:36.

My ex has been through a lot of hardship. His (very appropriate) theme song is "I Can Go The Distance" from the movie Hercules. He knows that whatever happens to him, he will be strong.

I guess you just listen to a bunch of music until you find a piece that really resonates with you? I dunno. To be honest, Marche Slave doesn’t really fit me that well either.

If all functions can be approximated by a sequence of polynomials, I bet all personalities can be arbitrarily approximated by a sequence of theme songs :D

Srsly though, sometime during this past week, I realized I’ve come to a post-art stage in my life. I still listen to music, but with a different understanding of my relation to that music.
