Wheaton life

My daughter (Junior in HS) & I visited this school yesterday & were totally impressed with what we saw even though offices were closed. Students were VERY friendly to us. Buildings were VERY nice. Not 100% sure about all the rules regarding attendance in chapel 3 times/week. But my daughter is ok with the drinking/smoking/opposite sex visits in room rules.

Any opinions about this school for students who are religious, but not in an overt way of expressing this or pushing 1 way on others?

Also appears that merit aid Presidential Scholarship is a lot less than most other 4 yr private schools - $1,000/yr. Any opinion on this?

My son was interested in Wheaton a couple of years ago and went through the application process but because of financial reasons, decided to go elsewhere. He was a NMS finalist and was offered the $1000 merit scholarship which seemed small to us but later, in his financial aide offer, was given an $18000/year grant. That pretty much made up for initial low scholarship offer.

Wheaton really is a great school though. One of my son's hs classmates is going there and really likes it.

when do they notify you of scholarship awards? Is it AFTER acceptances or along with your acceptance letter? Does anyone know when decisions are made and how? Thank you so much!
