When and how do notifications come?

My DS applied in October for the architecture program. Anyone know when the decisions will be sent and how-- by mail or email?

Last year, acceptance decisions were posted on-line via the umd website admissions decisions portal on or about Feb 1 with a thick letter to follow via parcel post.

Thanks! He has gotten some university acceptances but has to wait in those cases until April for the architecture decision. February would be a relief, one way or the other.

^ This time, it’ll apparently be in “Late January” :)

When UMD sends out the admissions decisions, they send out decisions for individual departments and different programs at the same time, so no extra waiting! :)

Yeah, DS got into Architecture last year and his notification came online and included the program. Good luck!

You can find out on line before the big packet comes. As I stated before this site will light up on the day it is released. Just know your password and you can find out that day.

Warning there are always a few students that are the stragglers and get “at this time” on their page, it does not mean you are not accepted, it means they just have finished downloading all of them. I think the latest one I have seen with that notification was about 3 days, but did come up by the true release date.

If they say Feb 1. as their release, start checking around the 27th of January,

please explain what you mean by ‘at this time’ and downloading all of them? confused…thanks.

Once admissions makes all their decisions, they have to download the decisions from their systems to the online systems. Since there are so many applicants, it’s not an instantaneous process. You might get a message that says your decision is “not available at this time,” which she was saying just means that you’re not denied, but that the decision just will be up later. :)

thank you much :)
