When and how does NYU notify?

When and how does NYU send out its ED decisions? I heard that it can be anywhere between Dec.15 and Jan 1. What the hell? In a sense, that means that one might have to fill out all the extra apps, send in transcripts, etc while waiting for a NYU decision?

Pretty messed up. How do they notify? I dont even think you can check online

With any school you apply early decision, you should be prepared to send applications to other schools. NYU does it the same way every other school does. They send a letter in the mail around December 15.

theres no way to check online? Because i think at least 80% of the ed applicants can just check online at 12/15 and get it over with but i guess nyu is not technologically advanced enough to do that.

When my D applied E.D. two years ago, an email was sent out on Dec. 13th notifying that she'd been accepted and inviting her to an online chat with other accepted students. The official package came in the mail the following week. Last year, I don't think they sent out the email. What NYU usually says is that they BEGIN notifying people around the 15th and that some will not hear til Jan. 1. This is why you should always have your Regular Decision apps ready to go, in case you haven't heard. You cannot check online, and it has nothing to do with not being technologically advanced.

There was no E-Mail last year - at least for Tisch ED- my daughter received her admissions packet on Dec. 12th- it was dated Dec. 9th.

Damn, I really want an email on the 15 because I live so far away mail will take years to get here. Secondly I will be traveling during Christmas so I don't want to wait til January!
