when and how does rice release decision letters?

does nebody know when rice releases decisions? do they send letters only by mail or also by courier/email/online??

I think they post them online on the status page, and they also send them out by regular mail.

they send out acceptances via PRIORITY mail.

bump................

if they post them on the status page that means we'll get an email that our status has changed and will be able to go to the decision from there. that would be handy, but how sure are we that they post the decision on the site? anyone able to find that?

I applied interim and was accepted... I believe I got my status change online after I recieved the letter in the mail, but I live in Houston so it doesn't take quite so long... still I think it was a week or so difference.

actually, i also got my letter WAY before my status changed, and i live in ga.

When do you guys think they will be mailing the letters?

april 1st, i heard over the phone

good luck all

i got my admissions letter a few weeks back. got rejected. kind of disappointed since I thought my stats would've been good enough to get in. oh well lol.

i just got an email saying my status' changed and i was all excited and checked..

it was just telling me my app is now being reviewed

did you guys get this email/??

I got it. I was deferred, and the status changed from "Deferred to Regular Decision - Interim Decision" to "Evaluation in Progress - Regular Decision."

dmVP29, did you apply RD or Interim? I would think you got yours early if you applied RD. Whoever gets their letter first, please post.

my s got the status change email ( it is one of several he has gotten over the past 2 months) and he applied RD. Nothing changed though. we called admissions and they said it was something internal- it kicks out an email to the applicant. He said just ignore it. I wonder if it had to do with finaid or if they had reached a decision on him. nothing posted yet though.

Ya... I got several status change emails even after I was admitted... nothing changed on the webpage though.

I got deferred. anyone going to send in a letter to include new information?

I think it is a little late for that. I would think they pretty much already know who they've selected, but go on and send something in if you want.

I got several status change emails as my financial aid stuff starting coming in. Acceptance letters go out priority, so those arrive before rejections, which, in my opinion, is torturous and totally sucks. I actually got my acceptance letter two or three days before the official posted date on the website. I believe April 1st will be the day that they change the website since they sent out the Interim status change email on Feb 10th (yay for gmail saving everything).

I think just about everyone got their letters, good or bad, before the website changed for interim decision, and my ED friends got acceptance letters like, four days before the official date.

llamapyjamas- that's kinda weird. Actually an admission officer told me rejection and decsion letters all go out the same day. When you receive them only depends on where you live. For example I got my acceptance letter Feb 9th and my friend out his Feb 10th (the day one was supposed to have heard by). One of my other freinds found out she was rejected b4 I learned I was accepted. But yes, generally acceptance letters arrive maybe a day or two earlier. And an email about status change will be up on the 1st I believe.
