Is it through a card in the mail, or an email? How is the fact that 5/1 is on a Sunday affect the sending of the decision, if at all?

I confirmed with Grinnell the other day that the acceptance will be considered on time if it’s postmarked tomorrow even though it won’t arrive until after May 1. I don’t know about email for Grinnell.

I wonder if it wd be considered on time if postmarked on 5-2, since postoffices are not open on sunday?

I would not take a chance on having it postmarked May 2nd! If you can’t reach anyone at admissions at Grinnell today, then I would ask a post office what happens if you drop it in the box tomorrow – will it be postmarked the 1st? If not, I’d get it in today!
It’s the postmark that matters, not the arrival date. (although I have to imagine that if you contacted Grinnell right away to let them know you mailed it on the 1st, but the postmark will say the 2nd, they’d understand)
