It?s been too long that I am not able to write here. Now I am still asking my friend to post this message here. I miss this forum?I have one question about the financial aid result.

I wonder how are you going to know about how much financial aid you get after being admitted? Because that will determine whether you can finally choose to go to that college. So is it notified online or just by postal service? And how long does it take for you to get the mail? I applied for the Early Decision II. I?m now feeling really worried about everything?

MHC will send your financial aid info along with your acceptance package. However, if you are accepted EDII there is no "choosing" to go to Mt. Holyoke or not.

By applying ED, you are commiting to go if accepted even if the financial aid is less than you were hoping for.

100% need met is based on Mount Holyoke's calulation of need, not your calculation or any of the EFC calculators. The financial aid office has their own method.

If you must have financial aid in order to attend, applying ED is risky. That opinion is repeated again and again on the forums.

Unless you have documentation of an issue that Mt. Holyoke is not aware of at the time they calculate your aid ( High medical expenses, job loss...) you are going to have to take what MHC gives you.

I don't think that applies to intls. Our fin aid application clearly asks us how much we can contribute. If a college calculates our family contribution significantly higher than that, that is a reason to withdraw even if one applied ED.

b@rium, i'm sorry, but you're wrong. you're committed. EVERYONE is asked how much they can contribue, not just intls, and mt holyoke is not very good with fulfilling the EFC, but they are very good at fulfilling the IFC. When I applied a few years ago, my FAFSA stated that my EFC was $163. Mt Holyoke's IFC for me, because of my parents' assets, was over $32,000. I wasn't ED, but this is the school i wanted to go to and no, I don't regret it (yet), because I think it was worth it.

I know ED students who got screwed with the FA. There are people who end up not returning because FA gets worse yearly. A few students who were here last year actually ended up not coming because of the whole $ issue. Yes, Mt Holyoke is generous, but no, Mt Holyoke is not fairly so.
