when applying to med school, does being in HSS actually hurt ur chances?

I recently got into CMU's cognitive science major and had a quick question.

I plan to use cognitive science (concentration in neuroscience) as my stepping stone to med school. Conventionally, HSS is generally regarded as the "easier" school in CMU (easy when compared to SCS and MCS; but still hard compared to other schools nation wide). I know that CMU offers a nationally ranked cognitive science program and was wondering when i apply to med school would being in HSS actually make my "course of study" less "rigorous"? MY personal opinion, is that it doesnt because I am doing cognitive science which is ranked 2 in the nation (and also CMU psychology program is very prestigious)....but i want others thoughts!

thanks and go tartans!

No being in HSS does not affect your chances. As long as you are successful academically and have a solid MCAT score from taking the required courses, you should be fine. :)
