When applying to Stanford Early Action do they know what classes you're taking senior year?

Or do they only see your Freshman through Junior classes? Since applying early action only the first quarter of senior year will be done so do they require you to send in your senior transcript as well?

Yes they see your senior quarter grades, also the classes you’re taking should be in your common app.

I thought quarter grades weren’t shared with colleges?

You need to send them transcript, read the requirement before you apply.

I think it depends on your school’s policy. At my school, for example, we don’t send until the end of first semester, but both quarters and the midterm grades are included on it.

If you apply common app you have to send in midterm grades. Only the UCs where you don’t have to send until you get accepted and decided to attend.

If Stanford asks, your school will share them, even if they are unofficial. To not do so risks rejection or deferral.

Sorry guys – but Stanford and most highly selective schools require that your guidance counselor send an “interim” grade report. This is on all of their websites. This means that even if your school does not “issue” official quarter grades and only does semester-end grades in January, that if you are applying to an early action or ED school in November, your guidance counselor will check in with your teachers and report your grades-to-date. So do not let up senior fall!!!

Have you started filling the CommonApp? Of course they will know what classes you are taking in senior. The adcom may also contact your GC for mid year report later on.

You need to read the common app carefully, everything is spelled out in there about transcript.

I asked my school registrar. At least for my school, selective colleges can (read will) ask for 1st quarter grades, for both RD and as an update in EA .
