How much later do the emails get sent after the portal changes?

To Ralph 4:
My son has applied to Materials Engineering. What is your oldest doing now that he has graduated?

Glef13f: My son is working (!!!) as an entry level Materials Engineer at a small engineering company in Santa Barbara. He’s getting great experience and is close enough to SLO to go visit his friends (mostly 5th years) on the weekends. Good luck to your son, MatE is a great program. My son loved his department at CP. :)

do all decisions come in the evening or do they start releasing from morning? what is the general trend from past years?

I checked last years thread. Decisions came in the evening and on Saturday and took about 2 weeks for the acceptances and waitlists to come in. Rejections started on March 2.

All the way to next Saturday will be interesting.

^ Agreed. And the following week will be terrible if I don’t hear anything.

To Ralph4:
Congratulations!! That is wonderful! Here’s hoping…

This waiting is killing me and I am the mom (first kid though, so I am fully invested in the process). I am so worried for my daughter who absolutely fell in love with SLO and the fact that they have a highly regarded business school. She also saw herself living there, and fell in love with the town. I really hope she gets in because this is her #1 state school choice! My daughter won’t even log in herself she is trying not to think about it…GOOD LUCK EVERYBODY!

Ooops I might have been wrong about decisions appearing on Saturdays. Looking at the wrong calendar and it’s kind of hard to tell when people post vs when the decision was actually posted on the portal. Might be just weekday evenings including Friday night and of course not Monday of Presidents day weekend.

Good luck to your daughter. I hope she gets in. But if she doesn’t I’m sure she will be happy at whatever school she ends up attending. My son who is a sophomore has friends at college campuses all over the U.S. With rare exception, most all his friends love there school and could not imagine themselves anywhere else-whether or not it was his or her first choice. My point is, most happy well adjusted kids will make friends and will end up loving wherever they go.

Thanks, and I know you’re right…she has already gotten accepted to a few schools, but deep down I know this is the one she really wants to get accepted to and it will be disappointing to her if she doesn’t. However, like you said she will do well no matter where she goes because she has the right attitude and a great personality. Thanks for posting your points!

Just checked … D got accepted to Industrial Technology, School of Business! Applied Nov 29th. I’m not sure of her stats. I’ll ask when she gets home and have her post!

OMG!!! SO EXCITED. My daughter got accepted sometime this afternoon. She applied regular decision on 10/30. Business Admin major, 3.8 GPA, 1900 SAT (R 650/M 700/W 550)…Lots of EC, AP and Honors classes…4 years Varsity Basketball and Senior Captain. So relieved…now we can enjoy the weekend!

Have any transfer students heard yet??

My daughter is a transfer student applying for the College of AG (RPTA) and has not heard anything yet. No decision yet!

Thanks, Pat. My son is a junior transfer waiting to hear from the Business school. Ahhh, the suspense :-0

I’m a junior transfer applicant for Business Administration. No determination yet. AHH… so nervous!

She called today and was told by admissions that this year they are accepting freshman first then transfer students. She said it would be about another week or two for transfer students to hear. But the admissions all seem to have different answers… yesterday I called and was told that no decisions would be going out at all this week and yesterday acceptances started!!! He also said that freshman and transfer students will all be admitted together. Hopefully the admissions person today my daughter talked to was more informed!!

Whoo! I just got accepted to SLO! I applied for Architectural Engineering on 10/06/2011.

Man, that was a long wait.
