So I know it says by April, but does that mean they will release decisions as they are done with them?

They are mailed all at once. If you look back at the history from last year you’ll see they were mailed on 3/23/12 (see post #6). I would in no way take that for granted they’ll be a week early this year, simply what happened last year, and that they are all mailed at once. Best of luck!

Just for comparison, previous years…they were mailed 3/23/11, and student starting receiving letters on 3/26/10.

Ok thanks good to know I can stop checking the site everyday :). Anyone know the average SATs for last year’s class? I can only find data on 2008’s class and I heard that their average SATs were a lot lower since going test optional

Wake Forest’s most recent Common Data Set available, 2011-2012, is for the class that entered in fall 2011. It has a wealth of information.

For CR: 25%tile: 610 75th %tile: 700
For M: 25%tile: 620 75th %tile: 700

Ok thanks a lot! Interesting to see that there is only a ~5% Asian population. I’m Asian myself although my high school has about a 1% Asian population :), so I actually would like a school with not a lot of Asians.

Being Asian will probably help you in admissions at WFU, unlike many other competitive universities.

Wake has aggressively been trying to increase the overall % of minority students on campus the last several years. It wasn’t too long ago that it was around 14-17%, and not it’s around 25%. And because the Asian population is NOT over represented here yet, an Asian applicant will be able to use the “minority card” as an advantage.

Asian students can be an ORM or a URM depending on the school. There is no ‘playing the minority card’. The student applies and the university decides if they meet any institutional needs (gender balance, race, recruited athletes, legacy, developmental admits). Every school has a different list of what meets their needs. TBH, personally I find your statement offensive. It just goes to show how many people feel when they think anyone (URM, athlete, legacy, etc) has received special consideration in admissions. Don’t ever label the applicant as playing the ______ card. It’s the universities that choose what gets special consideration, and what one university is looking for may mean nothing at the next.

Do you think we’ll hear late this week?

My guess is that we’ll hear back late next week, but I don’t know for sure, just basing on past years.

1 week seems so very far away, but so close as well! So nervous!

it looks like the past few years have all started hearing back on the 25/26th. hopefully that stays consistent this year…

I just spoke with admissions. They’re mailing them towards the end of this week. I’m assuming that if you’re in state we could have them by Saturday and if you’re out of state you’ll probably recieve them next Tuesday or Wednesday.

I was told they’re being sent out on March 21st

They didn’t get them out in time today so they’re sending tomorrow

Does anyone know if envelopes are different sizes if accepted or not?

Does anyone know if Wake has an electronic form of notification? Web site? Email?

Per the admissions portal, notification is communicated in the traditional fashion - snail mail.

It was rumored the letters were sent out yesterday or today, does anyone have any confirmation on that?

The WFUAdmissions twitter account tweeted a picture of a bunch of envelopes today but said they were “stuffing” them… didn’t say they were sent out yet.

Letters were mailed out this morning according to admissions. I had a friend who called and asked and they said they were sent out this morning.
