When are decisions made?

Based on past experience the mailing will probably go out the end of this week. Dean Roby Blust is famous for personally signing every single acceptance package, often with a short personal note directed to the applicant. It is a process that physically takes him better part of a week.

I’m told that applications this year exceed 21,000 (up from about 19,000 last year). Last year’s incoming Freshman class back in September was approximately 1,950, right where MU wants it. Of course, several times that are accepted.

Good luck to all. It is a special moment when your son or daughter opens the big gold envelope welcoming him/her to the family!

From Facebook - Marquette University Class of 2015: Real Students, Real Answers

Leah Strong -The first wave of decision letters went out this morning in the mail. We typically mail letters every business day for about 7 days in order to clear our mail house. We don’t mail letters in any particular order. We had over 21,000 applications so you can image how long it will take to get all the letters out.

GOOD LUCK TO ALL!

Did anyone else get sent a baseball hat from Marquette?
It came with this note: "Thank you for applying to Marquette! To show our appreciation we say ‘hats off to you!’ Or, more appropriately, ‘hats on.’ Wear it often, and wear it with pride.

Admissions decisions will be mailed from Marquette in late-January. In the interim, be sure to check out scholarship opportunities at [Marquette University](Scholarships and Scholars Programs // Undergraduate Admissions // Marquette University).

Best wishes in your college search.

Yes my son received a cap last week. We thought it was a nice touch.

Yes, it was! I’m getting nervous now. :stuck_out_tongue: Only a couple more weeks until we find out our decisions…

Good luck to your son.

No hat here - wonder if that means anything.

They send the hat to a couple of hundred of the first applicants until they run out, so don’t worry.

Only a couple hundred? Out of 21,000? Geez, I didn’t think I was that quick in applying…

Well that is what they always say. Wether the number is accurate or not I can’t tell. My S didn’t get one and he is a sophomore.

I know how anxious you guys are. Please remember that there isn’t any mail delivery on Monday. Some friends may start to get their package today and tomorrow. No worries if your acceptance doesn’t come until next week.

Rather than watching for the mailman, wear the Gold tee shirt and put your energy into the big MU/Louisville BBall game on Saturday. You’ll be on campus and in the student section before you know it.

Did anyone else get that new tab on the CheckMarq homescreen “Next Step” or something like that. I hope that means I am accepted :)

If you have like a to do list congratulations it means you are in. But please note that not everyone will get their status updated at the same time!

I did get the “Next Step” tab added to the main screen also but have not received any acceptance letter yet. I could click on certain items on the “Next Step” screen. For example I could pay my housing and tuition deposit. Did not keep going on this because I have not received any acceptance letter. Confusing?

This means you are in. Letters are not sent at the same time!

Seriously? Are you sure? This is great.
I have the Next Step tab.

Yes for sure! Unless they made a mistake updating your CheckMarq and I doubt that.

Great, I’m so glad. I wasn’t sure if I would get accepted or not.
Now comes the long wait for my letter… :p

S got the next step tab also. yeah! We live on the east coast so it may take a little longer for any letter to get here.
