It is 12-15 by the Dartmouth SIS, early December by TheDartmouth.com | America's Oldest College Newspaper. Founded 1799.. While 12-12 last year and 12-08 the year before. 13ers, when do you think this year's will be?

Here's my guess- last year was, as you say, 12/12, but this year there were 12.5% more applicants, which makes the process much harder. My bet- 12/14 or 12/15.

I don't think they will put it up on dec. 13 or 14 because that is a weekend and i highly doubt they will update their computers on a weekend. my bet is on 12/12.

I think Brown is doing 12/11.

I think Cornell is doing 12/11 too, but I don't think that has any correlation with Dartmouth.

will they email us to say the status has been updated on bannerstudent? or do we have to check it every 30 seconds :).

I think they email you to tell you when the status on bannerstudent will be updated (tell you a date and time). I agree that it will either be the 12th or the 15th. Probably 12th, though, because hopefully they wouldn't wait until the last minute. Then again, I just want to know as early as possible!

They e-mail you? Good, because I would just check compulsively otherwise.

Haha, well I compulsively check anyway. Just in case ; )

still, 12/12 seems too early and here's why- had they anticipated the jump in applicants, they would no doubt have had extra people ready, but they thought that app numbers would be down this year and thus had probably the same number of readers or possibly less. This means it should take them longer to get everything finalized, so I have to imagine the decisions will be closer to 12/15.

I'd bet on 12/12 again, a Friday. They'll be able to work though the extra applications by adding temporary staff. It could even be Thursday, 12/11. It'll be the same day as Brown and Penn. They will definitely let you know. Stay tuned.

does anyone know how far in advance dartmouth lets us know the date we find out?

Perhaps tomorrow.

A recruited athlete at my child's school was told he would find out on the 8th.

isn't this exciting! =)

I can tell you ED applicants are quite nervous about the results. Don't worry too much. You'll b fine.

i heard the 8th as well.

The 8th? Really? You mean in a week?!?! Oh jeeez.

so it could be the 8th..the 11th, the 12th, the 13th..or the 15th? Whichever it is..not too far away! I'm planning on celebrating no matter the news with a nice steak :D. So hurry up Dartmouth...I'm hungry!

I believe that recruited athletes last year (I wasn't one) got a "wink" letter a few days earlier. That would explain the December 8th date. It may only be for the athletes.
