When are ED results most probably available?

I remember that the thinking last year was that they released decisions on the last day of the term (admissions officer get a december break too!). This year, the last day of finals is the 10th, and the dorms close on the 11th. So, I'm guessing thursday the 11th.

Dartmoose, you bet!

^That's be ok, but it would wreck Friday and Saturday, which are normally the best days of the week.

That argument makes the most sense. I thought that I would be a little more jittery to find out whether or not I was accepted, but I haven't signed into Bannerstudent in a week or two. I can just check on CC because some of you check it compulsively and let the rest of us know of any changes, I'm sure =)

This is so completely frustrating - I'd like to receive my decision earlier so I can get over it earlier, but really I just want to know on thursday/friday because if I get rejected/deferred I can spend the weekend getting over it and not have a zillion people at school asking me about it, and if i somehow manage to get in then i can celebrate with friends and party!

^They'll just ask you when you get back and reopen the wounds. But yeah, that'll be the hardest part- saying, "No, I got rejected" over and over and then all the sympathy and annoying comments like, "Well, it's their loss."

yeah quite paradoxical...
strange that the AO hasn't yet sent out an email saying when and how to access the decision online. shouldn't it be 4 or 5 days prior to the release date? if so, this will directly lead to the fact that we'll see the result on either 12 or 15.

I didn't realize they sent out the email in advance like that. Why send an email so early? You'd think they'd send it the morning of announcements or something saying.. check banner later this afternoon, we're outta here.

i heard from a college admissions rep that ED notification would be the 10th. i was told that two months ago though, so things might have changed. I really hope that notification is the 10th,11th or 12th.

10th really seems to be sensible
should it be 330pm? or 5pm...

A little bias I sense? lol

To Dartmoose: SIGH

Why doesn't someone just call the admissions office?

They'll tell you to wait for the email.

oh i called the office. They would not slip anything lol. All they said was that it would be posted the 15th the latest.

There is one thing I will dread if I get in: The shear number of phone calls I will have to make that day. I will probably have to call 100 people ( I wish the adults had facebook, then I could notify them all at once!)

I'll just change my facebook profile to "_____ is rejected, (as expected), from Dartmouth."

Has it ever dawned on you people that adcoms could very well be reading these posts? And very easily figure out who you are? My point is that by giving too much information about yourself (stats, grades, activities, state, etc.) and then either predicting you won't get in or complaining about the admissions process, you may be inadvertently hurting your own chances. I am a parent, by the way, not an applicant, but am concerned that some of you should be a little more careful about what you're saying on these forums. Good Luck!

Well anyhow, we will be hearing within 8 days. Could be anytime this week or could be the 15th. Knock on wood it's this week!

I went to visit the college and one of the admissions officers pretty much made fun of sites like these and "how to get in" admissions books. with all those apps to read, i'm pretty sure that they won't be checking CC. if they do, then they do. no one should post things online that they don't want to be read... seems pretty simple to me.
