When Are Housing Updates?

I thought I said somewhere in the housing portal that UF would email us sometime in late April updating us on our housing information, telling us when our date in June would be to go on and choose our house. It's May already. I just want to make sure I'm not behind on anything.

From what I read they said by the end of May

Sorry to thread jack here, but does anyone have any more info on how room signup works? We were supposed to get our room sign up dates late April as well and still nothing…

I am suddenly very confused and nervous that I have done something wrong. What do you mean by “room sign up”? I’ve done the application, deposit, contract, and preferences. What else is there?

you can do preferences and let them choose your room based on that or actually pick your room on a certain date based on when you applied…you can see everything from which rooms are taken to who is in that room already…heres a link for all the info:
http://www.housing.ufl.edu/liveon/roomselection.php</a></p>

@kpack13 we can which rooms are already taken? How?

dates are up, I have 05/26

^Was just about to say that lol. Ya its updated, I did my date late so my room selection date is June 29th

^How do you check?

Yeah how do you check?
I bought mines on November 4th so I hope I got a good date!

Also when choosing a roommate, even if they have a bad priority date, I can still put a hold on them and reserve them as my roommate right? (if they respond to the hold email within 24 hours)

Go on [Room Selection - UF | Housing & Residence Education](http://www.housing.ufl.edu/liveon/roomselection.php) <—there and then all the way at the bottom it has the updated dates. It shows the housing application dates and the room selection dates beside it. @HanSolo looks like yours is like June 6th

I got my email a few minutes ago. June 24th.

Will any of the “popular” dorms like Beaty, Broward or Jennings still be available you think?

I hope Beaty is still there since it was my first choice :stuck_out_tongue: My others were Murphy and Fletcher

Damn I did indeed get June 6th
I really hope Beaty dosen’t fill up cause that’s my number 1 too, I haven’t even considered a 2nd option…

is may 25th a good date?

^ Considering how Room Selection dates start on may 18th, I’d say your date is real good. At least way better than mine lol.

For Fall, my date is June 6th. But the roommate I picked has a date in mid-July (July 10th I think) which is the second to last date…

Does that mean that I have to wait until her date to choose my dorm so that we can be together? She also had prepaid and I don’t if that makes a difference…

Also, I never got any information about housing dates for Summer or any info at all for that matter.

Can someone help me?

For the fall: no, on your housing date you’d log onto the housing portal, search through the available vacancies and once you’ve found a room that can accommodate you and your friend you would select it and then save her a spot by using her uf id #. Then she has 24 hours to accept the spot. And if she has prepaid, all i believe is that she forfeits the double, a/c room she was guaranteed.
and there aren’t any housing dates for summer. Rooms will be given out based on the preferences you put on the housing portal

Something interesting to note…

According to last years freshmen, housing was full by 05/27, though individual rooms did show up during the summer…

I got an email today. Mine is June 3rd and I hope Jennings doesn’t fill up quickly…
