@arwen 15 - Wasn't that letter funny? It had our names in it like 10 times in the first paragraph if I remember correctly.

I GOT A LIKELY LETTER TODAY!!! ahh I'm so excited! There is still hope for people who haven't received one yet...!

dna..where are u from....i still haven't got my letter yet...i scare that i wont get accepted....

I'm from NC. maybe the instate batch is just now coming out?

maybe...dna where are you in NC?

I'm from NC too, and it usually takes 1-2 days from the postmark date for stuff to reach me from Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill.

I'm probably not going to get a likely letter anyhow...

Guys, guess what???? I didn't get a likely letter- but I DID get a phone call today telling me that I'm a Robertson's Semi-Finalist! If I advance to finalist standing after my phone interview this weekend, I get the free trip down to Duke as well! It's so exciting!

Odd, though, because I thought that you had to be a likely letter recipient in order to be considered for Dukes' scholarships. Appearantly not.

^Congratulations on Robertson!!

And congratulations to everyone who got likely letters.. it seems like being on College Confidential is a prerequisite to getting one, lol. :)

maybe Robertson is different since it's duke and unc?? haha idk. I'm a semifinalist for Robertson at UNC, I just wish I had gotten it for Duke instead!

phonyreal: I live about an hour south of Durham...maybe yours will come tomorrow?

Do you guys know if the likely letters for the other states have been sent out by now?

some have. since theres not 350 responses on here, we can't know if all have been sent tho. they sent em in waves last year, so it follows to think there's at least one more out of state wave coming. but it's coming close to decision releases so who can say

hopefully ORegon still hasnt came yet/.....

i'm from nj & havent gotten a likely letter yet...rlly want 1 tho =P

hey everyone.. since you're all going crazy about likely letters, merit scholarships, etc. at Duke, I thought I'd join in.
I'm from CT and I did not receive a likely letter, but I am a Robertson Semifinalist (found out last Friday, even though I didn't apply for it), which apparently means that I've been accepted to Duke! Hopefully I'll see you all in March if I'm a finalist!
Anyway, just thought that might be encouraging to the kids who didn't get likely letters. In order to be considered for a merit scholarship you DO NOT need to get a likely letter. :)

haha ceo1207, im the same way and am ridiculously happy. i know i havent said this yet, so I'll say it now: congrats to all of you who are, in fact, amazing enough to get a likely letter. hats off to you. ;-)

So have all of the likely letters been sent out? Does anyone know for sure?

Hmm, I didn't get one from Duke but got one from Stanford and Columbia.

ceo,, maybe you didn't get one because it was unnecessary... you're notified shortly because of robertson anyway
stupidkid, perhaps likely letters mean different things at different schools. some schools are more selective in giving out likely letters.

has anyone heard about merit scholarships?

i second that, has anyone heard about bn scholars

I got a likely letter today. I'm from Virginia.
