I thought open enrollment was the day they remove it for enrollment but I guess I was wrong.

Apparently a class was to be open for registration for non-majors starting yesterday (3rd) at 6pm, but apparently not; my guess is the person in charge of releasing it forgot to do it.

usually, they’ll specify it. i know that some class will be lifted on december 17th.

They did specify it, except they just never followed through. I’m talking about Drama 15.

If a class says “major only” it means only students in that major may take it. If you want to get in, you have to email the professor and, if they want you, they’ll give you an add code. For drama, you’ll probably have to audition, just as you would have to submit creative writings to get into one of those classes or sing/play to get into a music class.

^, yes “major only” obviously means for that major only. But it you go on websoc, it actually says what I mentioned in my previous posts. “Drama 15 will be open to non-majors beginning December 3rd at 6pm.”

And Drama 15 is a lecture-style intro-level course, as there are 250 spots. I wouldn’t think we would need to audition for a lecture class, now would we?

Just to clarify, I took Drama15 (with Kubiak) last year. There’s no audition required 'cause all you do is sit and listen to the professor (or as other people did, fall asleep). I think it’s like one of the first prereqs for drama majors, so it’s a really easy class.

I had the same problem last year with the restriction not being lifted right away when it was supposed to. I remember checking constantly in vain, until one Friday afternoon I went out instead of checking websoc all day. And you know what happened? It was finally lifted and the class was full by the time I could add it. You bet I was angry about that, lol. But I did manage to get in eventually. Spots are limited and they won’t add more than there are seats, so make sure you check websoc constantly for an open spot in the event that someone drops randomly (that’s how I got in).

…but if you can get in before the class gets full that would save you a lot of trouble too :)

Well, the restriction is lifted now just so you know. (:

“Space may become available for some classes beginning 12noon on December 6, 2010.”

NO!! I missed the open enrollment!! lol. I was planning for Studio Art 9B. Just realized its was today at noon…drama 15 is open, is that ‘easy a’?

Should be, :]
