when are regular acceptances sent out?

im nervous...

same question

well they say april 15th...at that's probably at the latest. i read somewhere they usually start sending out mid to late march..i'll look for where i read that

on the application status page they say we'll be notified by mid april though

mid april
that's too late

When was stuff sent out last year?

my friend got hers April 3rd last year.

yeah um...by april 15th, i'll already have decided on a college if i haven't gotten into or rejected (or ANY Decision from) northwestern lol.

ED applicants to Northwestern heard before other schools. Strange that it's so late for RD. My son has applied to several schools and this is the latest.

Last year they posted the decisions online about a week before April 1. I only remember this because it was nice knowing that I already had one acceptance before all the other schools' decisions came out.

That being said, it might be later this year due to the influx of applicants. I'd say first week of April at the latest.

i think in my ID letter, it said early april so probably Mon, 4/2

online it now says "early april" if you check your status

my NU response was like the 3rd one i got

I'm intrigued, i have noticed that all letters from northwestern are in professional, slim, and standard-sized envelopes. Are acceptances in these too? If not, are they in those "obviously long" packets lol? And...it would be funny...if on the paper it was in (envelope, package, whatevah) it said "YOU'RE IN!" b/c that's what case's envelope said at least haha...but i have a feeling northwestern looves to keep up the suspense, and ruin it all.

i think the actual decision comes in big packages (for acceptance) or slim envelopes

decisions will be online early april even though they say mid april on the site--> an adcom said that when I visited
im pretty sure acceptances come in big packages because my roommate got accepted last year and i thought he got a big package...but i may be wrong

The acceptance package is in a big envelope that says CONGRATULATIONS on it. And it has a folder inside with a letter and information and stuff like that.
Good luck you guys!

it says congrats on it? makes it less intense to open

BingCold- I don't think NU would be as cruel to send rejection letters in a big envelope. hehe.
Yes, I too am nervous and so eager to be either rejected or accepted. Just let me know!

it would be pretty devastating if you see a big envelope in the mail from northwestern only to find that you got rejected after opening it

considering the fact that i'm applying for the second time and have made it hell for the admissions department, they might just do that to me! hahahaa
