When Are The PSAT Scores Released?

Thanks! Guess I'll have to wait until next year.

lol still worrying about that one huh naidu? jrpar...could you also tell us what state you're from....wanna know if i'll get mine soon, thanks.

I hate waiting for my scores

Optimization: PSAT scores are not available online. I think your GC is making a big mistake by not releasing them to students until fall of senior year. What is the rationale? I suggest that you lobby your GC to distribute those scores NOW, when they’re useful to you, not next fall. I can think of two good reasons. First, you need your PSAT test results to help you identify your strengths and weaknesses for purposes of SAT prep. Since most kids take the SAT during their junior year, you need scores before the fall of senior year, when they're only marginally useful. Second, you should let your GC know that collegeboard has recently created something called “My College QuickStart,” a free college planning kit that lets juniors use their PSAT results to power a number of personalized tools, including a customized SAT study plan and a personalized list of potential colleges and majors. But you can’t use QuickStart without the access code that’s printed on your official PSAT paper score report. I have no idea whether QuickStart is actually useful, but knowing it’s there might persuade your GC to release those scores.

my school always waits until after winter break to distribute the scores, no matter how early they receive them...it almost makes one want to break into the guidance office (jk).

What is the cut off for NJ????? I'd love to know. Model UN in NJ , are you going to Princeton? My son will be there.

NJ cutoff last year was 223....so it should be around there give or take a point

Nope i'm going to Harvard MUN =)....BOSTON!

naidu, the answer to #24 (tone of passage 1 vs passage 2) was (e) - humorous vs. earnest.

NJ cutoff last year was 223

how do you know this? i heard that the last time the collegeboard revealed the cutoffs was in 2001

does it say whether or not u r a nmsf on ur score report?

No, you don't find out if you are semi-finalist until early Sept. of your senior year. In April or May, the top 50,000 scorers are asked to name two colleges to be notified of their high scores - if you get this letter you know you are at least commended. I don't know why the long delay, since at this point NM has all the data, but that's the schedule NM follows.

ok thx!!!!!!

yep, pretty sure it was 223....got it from a really long thread on this site where someone compiled all the cutoffs for every state. Don't feel like finding it right now, but....ye it's 223.

edit: here i found it <a href="http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=74297&page=45%5B/url%5D">http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=74297&page=45</a> it's for the PSAT 2005/NM 2007

jrpar, thanks for being so willing to answer our questions! i can finally stop worrying about that hiking question :-)

yeah, thanks

BTW, if you don't mind jrpar what was the answer to tone of the short passage -> wry or surly

Anyone else hear if their scores were in?

Scores arrived today at my S's HS in NJ.

naidu90, i jrpar says that the tone was wry

Ahh, I got 225.

^ nice should get you semi in any state. I'm in NJ, but my school didn't get them yet....maybe tomorrow =)
