Good job to everyone else & good luck to those who are still waiting :)

thanks unefleur....
how about the first question about newton and what the author said "gross" -> that's all I remember

thanks and great job!

thanks chinnu & naidu! the answer for the newton question was "attempt at humor based on two different senses of a word" (the passage quoted newton talking about "grosser" clouds and the author then said she agreed with him that clouds were "gross"..haha)

thanks.......

for that one with the barrier, what was that

Kristina, I don't believe they've said what NM cutoffs are yet.. I think you just have to wait til they announce them (in a very long time). Last year the cutoff for commended was 203, and semi (in my state- ma) was around 224/225. Unfortunately, I have no idea what it is this year.. though it probably always hovers around the same numbers. (It really sucks for people who are on the border though and therefore have to wait a long time to find out...I have a friend who got a 202, for example :/)

chinnu, are you talking about the astronomer question? because yes, the answer to that one was "a specific barrier to astronomical research..."

wow 4 wrong is 75.....that's really good

and the one in writing about the women sewing while her brothers did something
and the one about in writing about the bathroom tiles being laid on the floor and the person changing the house
also the one about aristotle and plato

lol naidu i cant believe you remember all these.....cant even wait a day or two huh?

no I can't wait, I hate waiting; I have a good memory

haha how do you remember all of these?! let me see...

woman sewing- letter b- "warren, who resented being taught needlework while
her brothers learned latin&greek, argued"

aristotle&plato- letter c- "the person of reason who looked upon (should be looks upon) existence w/ detachment"

i'm not sure which one the bathroom tiles one is..do you mean the one about drainpipes? ("underneath the basement floor lies- should be lie- the drainpipes", etc...)

yeah the drainpipes

shoot, I got one wrong, the aristotle and plato one all because I just picked the first answer think that I was right w/o reading the whole question
