it was b- "courted & accomplished"

thanks a lot, unefleursauvage (wrote out your whole name); that was a lot of help! I think I am going to get a 223-225 :(

np! and remember, the reading curve is RIDICULOUSLY sweet (4 wrong is a 75!), so you may do better than you expect. though is a 223-225 really such a bad score? ;)

guess not....

223-225 .......

naidu please tell me you tried to put a smiley face but instead it entered it as a frow face... which is rediculous

lol ye that'll get you semi in almost any state....unless you're like NJ, MA, or MD....in which case you MIGHT miss it by a point or 2....but nevertheless a great score

it was a frowny face chillin... sorry if it offended you :o
I live in NY, I hope that is a good enough score

Has anyone from Wisconsin gotten their PSAT scores yet?

Haha. I messed up.

CR: 2 wrong -- 78
M: 1 wrong -- 76
W: 3 wrong -- 71

Yeah. I was slightly disappointed. Really hoping for > 230, but whatever. It'll get me semi, I hope. New Jersey's a killer.

the curve is based on how kids did. your score's not neccessarily going to go up because of a "better" curve because the test was actually harder.

Were you referring to me?

..because those are my actual scores, which I received yesterday.

actually I was referring to the way- when anyone sees that a curve is 'more generous' such as sauvage- they say that the curve is "really generous" so you could "do better than you expect."

anyone from texas get theirs yet?

230 will definitely get you semi Taggart. I live in NY and 4 kids from my class are semis w/sub 230 scores from last year. All of them scored above 220 though. Congrats on the score.

^^I messed up. You "only" got a 225. You still should get semi w/that score.

Congratulations to those who made (or at least think they did) National Merit. However, would anyone know if this year's Commended Scores are going to be higher or lower than the average 200?

You see, I received mine today, and I made a 200 straight. I'm anxious to know if this will get me the Commended status or not.

I don't think so, since last was 203. But there's hope:)

Not in Jersey. Cutoff last year was 221, and that's cutting it awfully close.

I believe NY's cutoff was similar to Jersey's. I'm pretty sure that Massachusetts had the highest cutoff w/224. One kid in my class is semi based on last year w/a 225, so you should be fine. Even if the cutoffs increase, it is usually only by 1 in any given year.

I personally wish my PSAT scores = my SAT scores, then I'd be commended.

This system's really unfair to those who live in more populous states. I live in Oklahoma where the cutoff usually hovers around 207-208. I got my scores back today, and I got a 209. While I'm happy that I might become a semifinalist, reading about those with 220's worried about their status makes me feel bad. :|

I mean, Cutoff in OK is almost the same as Commended everywhere else...
