My application is pretty much ready to go. I'm just waiting for SMC to release their spring schedule so I can confirm which courses I will be taking. I really want to submit it before Thanksgiving so I can celebrate the holidays without stressing.

Probably the day before thanksgiving…i sign up for classes on the 23rd so i want to be sure as well before i put them on my app.
plus i need to tweak my statements a bit more.

I sign up for classes at 5 am tomorrow so in approximately 12 hours. I have my courses picked out and queued up, all I have to do is hit register and I’m in all of the classes. At noon I see the Honors counselor and complete/fine tune the app down to perfection and will probably submit it in that half-hour. It’s essentially completed except for a few things that have to be hammered out.

…And then it’s off to Thunder Valley to celebrate turning 22 on Saturday.

probably right after thanksgiving, black friday. hehe.

around thanksgiving, after i get a professor to look over my statements. god it’s going to be a horrible couple months lol

I’ll be submitting mine before November 30th… I hope lol.

Santa Monica College right? They realized their schedule for the spring this week. I just submitted mine today. Horrible personal statements but whatever happens just happens.

Submitted it on Saturday. Fine tuned the Personal Statements as much as I could and then CLICKED that submit button! …realized that stressing out too much over those is futile and might even jeopardize my performance this semester (and to add to the fun I’m taking 2 ulta-hard Physics courses back-to-back this semester)

And for those that are worried sick about the PS (as I was at one point)…CHILLAX!..it’s but one part of your app (and a fairly small part at that I would say). As long as they are “reasonably OK” things should be fine. They are not looking for a pulizter-prize winning piece!! …but that is from my perspective as an Electrical Engineering major.

Submitted tuesday! I will have to change one planned class though. Good luck guys!

submitting mine on Wednesday. I don’t want to worry about it during Thanksgiving and on the last day.

Mine ran into a snag, I thought I was supposed to qualify for a fee waiver but it’s saying I don’t so now I need to see why before I submit my app, lest I have to pay $300.

Also I’m freaking about some qualification where they won’t certify my TAP if I don’t have a 3.5 in March or something…I won’t have a 3.5 by then but I’ll have a 3.7 by May/June. All due to a technicality where I had them evaluate transcripts from another college, otherwise I’d have like a 3.8 (at West Valley) by March… It’s those 3 flippin Fs I gotta get off of there. So I gotta first hear back from the Honors Counselor about what I did wrong on the app (I think it’s where she had me put down my mom under Father/Guardian/Parent 1 AND Mother/Guardian Parent 2) when I only had it under Mother at first). WCS I pay the $300, I gotta speak to the Honors Coordinator too (AND Counselor, if she knows) about if there’s any like…special appeal I can make… kinda a special circumstances thing to still have the TAP granted because of…extraordinary circumstances or something. I don’t think it’s an unreasonable request to say “Hey a counselor gave me bad advice and I AM going to have the 3.6-3.7 by the end can I please get a buy on this one?” Well…spoken more eloquently than that but you get the idea, explain the situation and see if anything can be done. My counselor and coordinator are both extremely nice (the coordinator is actually a professor for one of the honors classes which I’m in) so I think surely SOMETHING must be able to be done.

Butttt… worst case scenario, this was all a waste of time and I’ll end up at UC San Diego or UC Irvine. Not my first choice anymore but it’s worth it.

I just submitted my application!!!
DAMN IT FEELS GOOD TO BE A GANG$TA
eeeee! so much weight off me. now i just need to pass my math class and I’m pretty much gewd :)

^Wee, I have great news Honors/TAP Co-ordinator is considering what can be done to help me about my little TAP issue. She didn’t outright say “Nothing can be done, sorry” so we’re meeting Monday to see what can be accomplished. I gotta tweek my app still to see why it’s not granting the fee waiver when we make less than 30k a year and CLEARLY qualify for it. I’m trying to hear back from the honors counselor (different person than the coordinator) but she may have nailed down the problem, I just want to see what else she says… but if she hasn’t responded by tomorrow afternoon/evening I’ll just tweek things best I can and do it then. Honestly this thing shoulda been finished by the 5th but instead we ended up using the hour to fix up my personal statement. So I’m just waiting, trying to remain confidant

you have so much going on…but when you finally submit it…its guna be amazing

I just submitted my app too! So relieved…until decisions start rolling in. Ha.

@itachirumon

There’s only a limited number of fee waivers available. I’m sure they’ve given them out by now.

Well, I submitted my app just after midnight last night and I qualified for the fee waiver. I only applied to 4 schools, so I didn’t have to pay anything. I didn’t even realize I would qualify for the fee waiver. I am glad I did though!

I’m submitting it tomorrow on my birthday!

Submitting mine today!

Submitted mine today! Feels nice to be done.
