Woah, we have the same exact GPA! Spooky…

Ok, but based on your stats, you should be able to get a scholarship, at least Dean’s. I have the same GPA and a slightly lower SAT score and got Dean’s. But for me, I submitted my old scores and got Dean’s, so maybe if I resubmitted my new scores I would PROBABLY get Provost. My essays were also pretty good, so if you essays are solid, then you’ll get a scholarship  Good luck!

UPDATE: I just realized that you applied Jan 15. I applied by the scholarship deadline and got that scholarship. So based on that, you have a 50/50 chance. I don’t know if you’ll get a scholarship now… In my school there were a lot of people who applied by the scholarship deadline so I don’t know if there would be any left.

@infinigirly hmm, were those ppl competitive applicants?

I would assume so since the majority of applicants are from NOVA.

.

please help!

November 15th was the deadline to apply if you wanted to be considered for a scholarship. Did you apply to Honors?
•Students in The Honors College must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 and a 3.2 GPA in honors courses

Biomedical engineering is the most competitive program to gain admission at VCU.

When we attended the orientation there were only 60 slots for biomedical engineering and we were told then that it was first come first serve meaning whoever accepted their offer first and put down a deposit got one of those slots.
They accepted more than the number of slots so just because someone got accepted to the program didn’t mean they were guaranteed a slot until they paid their deposit. The good thing was that once you are accepted into the program you are in. You don’t need to apply again specifically for biomedical engineering in sophomore year like other schools because this is a direct entry program.

If accepted into the program make sure to attend the Biomedical Engineering Orientation where they will explain the program and give you a tour of the different labs and research taking place.

Dd received her acceptance in November but the tour and Orientation took place in early April .
Scholarship notification took place in December as well as honors college acceptance.

@raclut I applied to the Honors college.

They told me I should be receiving a decision this week, so hopefully I’ll have a letter today.

If I remember the decisions were coming out on a rolling basis. I think you will get into biomedical engineering. It’s a well established program at VCU. Lots of research opportunities as well as an accelerated 5 year bachelor/master’s program. You will feel much better once you have an offer in hand.

Just got into the BME program!!!

I didn’t see any scholarship info though… will that be sent later on or did I just not get one?

Didn’t you apply past the scholarship deadline? They may have already been awarded. You can call and ask. Did you get into honors?

Well I applied to honors January 30, so I’m hoping I did (deadline was Feb 1)
