When can I take AP's?

<p>I’m not sure how to quantify the jump from SAT 2 to AP. SAT 2 tests HS level material; AP tests first-level university material.</p>

<p>As for stats to HYP, this is for last year’s entering class at Harvard:

The average self-reported unweighted GPA on a 4.0 scale was 3.94. Fifty-four percent of students reported a perfect 4.0, and the lowest score reported was a 3.0.</p>

<p>Freshmen reported an average composite SAT score of 2237. The reported average subject score was consistent across the three sections, with an average of 748 in the math section, 746 on writing, and 744 on critical reading.

<p>That said, 4.0 applicants with 2400 SAT’s get rejected from there as well; 'there is no magic formula for Harvard (or any equally selective school) admissions.</p>

<p>As for AP’s, there is no standard number. Some people have 0 because their school doesn’t offer them, some have over 20. I have no idea what the average is.</p>
