Heh, maybe I'm acting a little overexcited, but has anyone heard when and/or how people in the scholars program can select the living and learning program they want?

You’ll be able to fill out the inventory starting on February 12. ([College Park Scholars](http://www.scholars.umd.edu/admissions/inviteinfo/index.cfm))

yay thanks

I got into the scholars today and the smith school of business. The website said each scholars program only has 70-90, and you will live with all of them in Cambridge hall for the duration of the program, which is 4 semesters

Hardkicker92 – it’s not just Cambridge Hall… it’s the Cambridge Community, which is a set of 5 buildings. You don’t, however, have to live together all 4 semesters. Most scholars live in the buildings for the first year, and move somewhere else for sophomore year.

I’m assuming each living and learning program is on a first come first serve basis?

Not really. Many of the programs have enough space for people to get their first choice. (Somewhere around 85%+ of scholars get their first choice program). Past that, for the programs that fill up quickly (Business, Society, and Economy / Life Sciences / etc.), scholars who write that as their first choice on the inventory write a small essay (well, you write one for every program, but a lot of time, it doesn’t really matter), and they decide based on that, mainly.

Ah alright then. Glad the one I want isn’t one of the super super popular ones!
