<p>I read some web sites that say you can't apply on-line until Nov 1. Is that correct? Why so late? A lot of schools start Aug 1?!</p>
<p>That's correct. I don't think anyone has an answer to why its so late but the UC system does review quite a few (200K I think?) applications which might put a strain on the system. Clearly there's a need to prepare for the huge online traffic and, even with that, the server starts crashing the last week before the deadline.</p>
