When can you check online for Brown decisions?

Anyone know the exact time? Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

you should have gotten an email about this

around 5 pm eastern time

so if we haven't gotten any email about the time that the decisions will be posted, does that mean that we're not likely to get admitted?

here is the email
March 10, 2005

Applicants to the Class of 2009 will be notified by mail of admission decisions and financial aid awards on March 31, 2005.

You can also access your admission decision on the web at:

http://admissiondecision.brown.edu/

We suggest that you bookmark this site to use on March 31. Your admission decision will be available online on Thursday, March 31, 2005 no sooner than 5 p.m. (your local time).

If you would like to use the online service, you will need the UserID and password mailed to you earlier this year by the College Admission Office, not the PIN number and password you received if you applied online.

If you do not remember your UserID or password, or if you have problems logging on, please contact our CIS Help Desk at (401) 863-4357 (HELP) by Monday, March 28 , 2005. The regular office hours are between 8:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m. (EST). Please be advised that our staff must speak directly with the applicant.

Again, your official admission decision letter will be mailed to you on March 31. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

The Board of Admission

cant wait till that day :)

Oh noooo... I don't have the email.. .cry cry

Have anyone else received that email? If we don't receive it, does it mean that we're rejected from Brown?

they probably send that email off thru random selection... if you think about it, there are like 20,000 ppl who applied. sending an email to 20,000 ppl takes a while... i'm sure we'll get ours closer to the actual date that we find out.
i know for BU, they sent me a notification email on the day i was supposed to find out.

I got the email awhile back. It seems like everyone's emails had different times. Mine had 5pm like sempitern's though.

So did we ever figure out if "5pm (your local time)" meant 5pm, even on the west coast? Or does that mean 2pm for me?

they may also have the wrong email address for some people...like if you have a period or underscore or something in your SN, or if they read it wrong...i wouldnt worry about it

if i were on the westcoast, I'd check at 2. Worst thing that happens is it won't be up. I doubt they calibrated it so that it staggers ppls decision-checking time. Somehow, Brown admissions doesn't seem to be that organized.

What can I do if I don't know my password and username? Can I ask them to send it to me by e-mail?

I think you can call and they'll tell you.

Thanks everyone for the replies.

Eh, I'm not going to bubble over Brown. If I don't get in (which I won't), I don't get in. Even if I do, I'd actually prefer to attend a school like SUNY Buffalo as crazy as it sounds. You see, I already am coping with rejection...

Unless you already know tons of people there - I attended for one year of graduate school and it was the MOST UNFRIENDLY place - campus spread out, hard to meet people, entertainment expensive, not to mention the horrendous weather (!)

yulsie-Do you think your experience was altered due to the nature of graduate school or was Buffalo just a horrendous place to begin with? I visited it and actually liked the campus, although yes, I'd definitely agree it's a little big. The weather is terrible but I can't see that being a major deterrent for me. As for the expensive part...I can't imagine it being more expensive than Long Island but I really do thank you for your reply. This is actually the first bad things I've heard about UB.

I also did not get this email, should we be worried? I mean more worried than I already am? lol

My e-mail said "6:30 PM (your local time)," which for me is EST.

And to the person who asked about how to get their login ID/password, the e-mail says "If you would like to use the online service, you will need the UserID and password mailed to you earlier this year by the College Admission Office, not the PIN number and password you received if you applied online.

If you do not remember your UserID or password, or if you have problems logging on, please contact our CIS Help Desk at (401) 863-4357 (HELP) by Monday, March 28 , 2005. The regular office hours are between 8:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m. (EST). Please be advised that our staff must speak directly with the applicant."

So unless you've already called, I think you're SOL. Good luck!

my email said 5 PM for my local time.

so cali pple have to wait an agonizing longer -_-
