I'm having a difficult time figuring out HOW to choose a list of colleges. I really, really don't want to spend the next four years of my life living in a cold climate. Is it silly to choose a college based on the average temperature of its location?

not really.. don't make it the only factor in the decision but there are plenty of good schools in warm places. compile a list of schools that you're interested in, and like the climate and you should have far more than enough without a need to add the northern schools.

nope, thats usually the first thing people need to decide, is WHERE they want their school to be located. this means actual location (i.e. midwest), type of location (i.e. small town), and climate.

Yeah, a lot of people do that. I'm not that way though, my schools range from Cali to Maine, Texas to Michigan, LA to Northfield. I'm looking more into things about the schools and have gotten quite a weird mix.

And on the weather, if you couldn't be happy with cold, then that is fine, you should be happy. But, do you currently live in a warm climate or a cold one. I know a lot of people from warm climates who go to cold ones and they expect to hate it, but end up loving it. Winter is actually cool. But then again, I'm from Michigan and taking a long look at SoCal.
