When colleges review a candidate's SAT scores for admission, do they look at the total SAT scores, or do they evaluate particular sections? I'm pretty worried about the admission process as my total SAT score is 2000 (Its not that bad, as I'm not applying to ivys or anything, just good LACs.) But I feel my composite score is too low (610r and 690m...700w). So when admission officers evaluate my application, do they look at my overall score (2000) and perhaps admit me, or do they look at my low CR and Math scores and defer/waitlist/reject me?

Many both but math and CR are considered more important than writing at many, and then many still do not even consider the writing. Whether score is too low really depends on college.

To see how scores will be looked at, compare them to the 50th percentile scores widely available. The closer your scores are to the top of the range or above, the better off you are.

1300 is a little low for the top 20 LACs, but it will not cause a rejection in and of itself. It will simply mean the adcom will look for better than average strength, in comparison to other admited applicants, in your coursework, ECs, and essays.
