When did you first start thinking seriously about which college is right for you?

haven't started yet. :-/

lol, how old are you...

....17....

In seventh grade, my friends and I were obsessed with looking at college guides. I loved Amherst (this was before I knew that it is one of the top three LACs).

you have an awful lot of posts for someone not thinking bout college, are you here just for intelectual conversations

They haven't thought about the right college for them yet; doesn't mean college in general.

lol, well i thought about hs wen i was in 7th grade, i had a big day school boarding school dilemma. But since freshman year ive been looking at course oferings and stats of different colleges: MIT princeton cornell...

i had big dreams wen i was younger... but they werent based on real knowledge..they were goals

i started thinking about college approximately 12 minutes after having my umbilical cord cut. or rather, my parents started thinking about college for me. :) slowly over time, i have, with no small amount of striving, broken down their dreams of ivy league and the uc asian machine.

but really? sophomore year. that's when i started my love affair with uchicago. will find out next year if my ardor is requited. :D

I started seriously looking for colleges in freshman year.

10th grade after visiting my sister at her school (Princeton U) and having the time of my life :)

At the start of sophomore year, I started doing research online. Then towards the end of sophomore year was the first time I started touring out of state schools.

I didn't start thinking seriously till winter break of my junior year. And I still didn't really care until I visited Cornell a little less than a year ago.

when I got like 3 college brochures right after my AP results came in. (this was before I had the PSAT so it had to have been that.) One of them became my first choice, and still is.

"you have an awful lot of posts for someone not thinking bout college, are you here just for intelectual conversations"

yes. yes i am.

7th grade. I had a few overachiever cousins that had just graduated and went to Berzerkeley so I had to be just as good or better than them. =I

9th grade was when I began my obsession with prestige. My obsession with College Confidential set in during 10th grade and I learned a lot.

Not until the beginning of junior year did I consider where I would fit.

Crayon, you sound just like me.

summer after sophomore year, when I got a little brochure from CSUMB, it hit me that this college thing was for real. Only last year (junior year) did I actually start looking into different colleges.

As long as I can remember!! My mom says when I was a little girl, I wanted to go to Stanford, but I can't even remember that. My favorite aunt lives in Santa Barbara, and when I was in 4th grade, I found out there was a college there, and ever since my sights have been set there. Pretty much every grade I've ever earned since has been directed at getting into UCs. I'm obsessed!

It's geeky. But not too geeky right? I mean, I'm obsessed with UC, but it is a party campus.
