last year, i applied in early/mid-feb. i got my first choice which was birnkrant. i chose my roommate, who also applied pretty early.

i feel so dumb because i got accepted during the first wave but i had no idea about the housing situation so i didn’t apply until april 2! i kno its bad but i was just curious which dorm i’d probably most likely get? I applied Harris (north), evk (new), pardee, webb, and college res hall (new) in that order. also, what is so special about birnkart (sic)?

College Board says that USC’s $400 housing deposit is fully refundable if you don’t enroll…so this means if I get accepted and am serious about SC, I should pay the deposit as soon as a I get in, to ensure that I get the dorm that I want, right? Sorry kind of a dumb question.

Hoping for New/North or some other pretty social dorm.

you can’t make the 400 deposit until you’re enrolled, iirc. You can only pay the non-refundable $45 deposit.

I know i did it ASAP, and got myself a birnkrant triple because of it.

nice arctic :). I submitted my housing app like march 20th or so, and my roommate did it like april 20th or something. We got North. :o

haha yeah its pretty tough if your roommate’s date was so far back :(

my roommate signed up around march 20 too, so our averaged date was around the end of february

applied March 26 for Birnkrant triple, then double, then Parkside A&H, then Pardee, then one of the Marks, I think, and I am in Parkside A&H. :)

Oohh I forgot to come back and update, in case anyone next year finds this thread useful. My roommate and I got a Birnkrant double after all :)
